•Senate will appeal that Sh50 million Rigathi Gachagua judgment.
•It will hire a battery of lawyers who are Senators.
•Their legal fees will be more than Sh50 million... 🤔
Cheptongei Village Tribunal Judgement:
We agree with you that your neighour cut your fence & stole your cow. We can see the cow in his compound. But we are afraid we can’t return the cow as he has fixed the fence where he had cut. But to compensate you, we will give you a goat!
Case Dismissed.
Sections of Uhuru Park will be hived off to "expand Uhuru Highway".
Parts of Karura Forest will be hived off "to plant tree seedlings and build rangers' accommodation units".
Parts of Nairobi National Park will be hived off "to construct parking yards for the new Bomas International Convention Centre".
Sections of Ngong Forest are being cut down for "the construction of the Ngong-Riruta rail line and an international resort and casino".
Practically every green and gazetted area within the Nairobi Metropolitan area is being targeted.
And this is place where scrutiny is highest.
Can you imagine what is happening in gazetted areas in the Rift Valley.
When pastoralists are in power, every green space is either pasture for "wega ngombe wagule yiote" or merely something to degazette, cut down and build some ugly concrete structure.
Scarcity mentality at birth.
Lawyer Evans Ndong': Once the court found that the right to a fair hearing had been violated, the court had no option but to undo the effect of that impeachment. We may not like Rigathi Gachagua, but we cannot butcher the constitution in the manner the three-judge bench did today.

Constitutional Division of our High Court holds that the Constitutional Rights of Gachagua were violated but proceeds to compensate him for the violation instead of annulling the process. The High Court has given the Court of Appeal an easy bifurcated choice: affirm the violation & nullify the impeachment or set aside the alleged violation & confirm the impeachment.
The decision of the High Court is a judicial absurdity: REDUCTIO AD ABSURDUM!

Just a reminder, mid last year, our military ammunition reportedly surfaced in the hands of the RSF in Sudan. The government denied any involvement, no satisfactory explanation was given as to how it got there, no one was held accountable, and the story quietly faded away. As a country, we seem to have mastered the art of moving on without getting answers.
@Thagreatleo@HonKangata Well, i'm sure the community is...it's a way out especially when it rains. Procuring? I'm sure it's the usual way, sure this is not the final piece, concrete might be added too.
