In conclusion, students are still able to make a change if there were numbers of majority have the same problem and demanding for renewal. Until then, UiTM may think this is still a minor problem because only few reported.

Hence, it can be deemed that there is nothing to be feared by the UiTM Rembau students about the presence of the cute dogs. The sweet gestures and efforts to take care of these strays by the UiTM’s staff has eliminated any hostility from the dogs and maybe we students can even pinch in to supply some food or water to the campus’s stray dogs.

Ustazah Suhaila claims that the stray dogs are not hostile at all. They are shy and will only approach familiar faces that feed them when their company is welcomed. “There was an incident where “Jony” (the white dog) was seemingly chasing down her vehicle, which had never happened before because usually they’d just raised their paws as a thank you gesture, as it turns out, “Jony” was seeking for help because as one of her puppies was trapped in the drain”. She continues by explaining they had looked around the area for something to lift the puppy out from the drain, but in the end, it was a certain Miss Amirah who came to the rescue using a plastic bag to grab the puppy and get her out of the drain. The scared mother, Jony at first growled and snarled as she felt threatened for her children but calmed down after she realised the lecturers on that day were trying and successfully helped save her puppy.

Ustazah Suhaila later adds she hopes the strays are never left to fend for themselves and are taken care of especially now that it seems the tents by the campus’s gates have been made for the strays themselves.

Ustazah Suhaila further explains that UiTM has brought the issue of the welfare of the stray dogs up to the JKEN Meetings. It was then later known that there was an Orang Asli family who wanted to adopt the 3 puppies for the purpose of training them into farm dogs whilst leaving the 2 commonly spotted dogs of today by the campus’s gates. Ustazah claims that a report has been made to the City Council but no action has been taken.

Through various digging, Ustazah Suhaila, 36, a lecturer of the Academy of Islamic Studies is one of the very few lecturers of UiTM Rembau who often feeds the stray dogs. When questioned, she confirmed the sources are true. When she started noticing the stray dogs over a year ago, which at the time were a pack of 5, with 1 male, 1 female, and 3 other puppies it was then when she started feeding the family. She claims her motives are that she is fond of all animals of all shapes and sizes as she even has pets at home.

Officer Syed further explains the strays do not pose a threat to anyone as long as they are not disturbed. “ As long as you don't show fear for the dog, they won't chase you”. He further states that the Auxiliary Police Unit hold no responsibility in feeding.
