@jots@onlinedomaincom@CydeWeys I'm sure you know that pretty much every registry/backend blocks you quite promptly if you try to do 150mm ns queries in a few hours from a few IPs. Unfortunately I can't disclose the details how we get the names ;-) But I can assure you that it's not by mass domain:check query.
@onlinedomaincom@CydeWeys@jots Ah, okay. My 150 million are made up of "all unique names" from all zonefiles. I just checked, the 150k cover about 20% at .app. But you're right, whois is one of our sources.
@onlinedomaincom@CydeWeys@jots If we already know the 150k names, why should we check them again using the Registrar API? Besides, if our source were some big registrars, how would we know the numbers of the other registrars? ;-)
@onlinedomaincom@CydeWeys@jots So send ~150 million queries and burn the registrar's accreditation? This is not an option that a registrar would normally accept.
@BrowseArt Thank you for pointing that out - there really was a problem. But everything should work properly again. https://t.co/kTP4iGwoth #ntldstats#newgtlds
