@PatriciaHeaton We were discussing this last night, especially regarding educators, who are rightfully loosing their jobs for shocking 😳viewpoints & social media behaviors.
You did a great & brave job as Mayor on & after 9/11. I was there...running from the ball of debris as the towers tumbled. I was one American spared from loss. I remember it so vividly, as I watched the second tower fall before my eyes, with our clear view from the 32nd-floor conference room in midtown Manhattan.
Looking back, I had a fresh cup of coffee in hand when I was told, "Something is wrong…" The first plane hit the tower as I was in the subway station coming up to the office building. I dropped off my purse and laid it in my office chair, and then I headed for the Kuerig coffee machine. My good friend and co-worker, Tom, called for me to warn me that something was wrong…
We realized terror was in action when the second tower was hit; then, thinking of the Middle East as the potential threat, and knowing that the Iranian Embassy was above us, on the next floor, we all fled the building and the ball of debris that were moving quickly uptown from the falling towers.
We all left on foot, not knowing "what was next" and what that ball of debris had in store for us. I remember my exact outfit, and I was so thankful I wore flat loafers for walking over thirty blocks that day. My voicemail was flooded to the maximum capacity of twenty-five messages—mostly from my hometown of Nashville, TN. My friends and loved ones knew I worked in finance, but they didn't know where I worked…"Was Heather Nacole in the towers?" they worried.
No. That wasn't me in one of the towers—jumping to my death to escape the furnace of fire. After all, that steel wasn't supposed to melt like that, right? Science and human engineering said so, right? Yeah, though that steel melted like butter, but my life would go on that day. We, as New Yorkers, and as a nation, stood "together as one body” in the streets that day, as Americans and humanity should stand every day—to stand as one nation under God.
As our cell towers were inundated with calls, my cell wouldn't work…busy signals were all I heard each time I tried to make a call. There was one person I was desperately searching for on that day; he did work downtown. He is one hero who was at the foot of the towers helping—that one person is my husband. He was spared, too, that day. He walked away with just a little pulmonary scarring that eventually healed. He was blessed with another day, another phase of tomorrows.
We remember “The Fallen"—the heroes, the workers, the mothers, fathers, children, nieces, nephews, and friends of many who were in those towers. God Bless you all. Be at peace. Amen.
@MarshaBlackburn@MTSU Inexcusable. I just read she was removed. My husband & I graduated from MTSU in 1997 & went on to wonderful things in our careers, such as serving as Diplomats abroad; I cant imagine our then leadership of MTSU behaving this way. Disappointing. Thank you for speaking out.

Charlie’s children will be raised with stories instead of memories, photographs instead of laughter, and silence where their father’s voice should have echoed.
Charlie Kirk’s life should serve as a symbolic reminder that compassionate awareness elevates family, love, and country.
On Sunday, 8/24/2025, at a Fredericksburg, TX fundraiser for the Texas Hill Country Flood Relief (& unrelated to the recent Minnesota tragedy), we announced the formation of Paidion Shield, a nonprofit with the vision to see a nation where warriors become ambassadors and shepherds, rising to the challenge of protecting the innocent—applying their hard-earned skills to bring hope, preparedness, and lasting impact.
On Wednesday, 8/27/2025, we held our 1st informational session. On the drive to the meeting, the Annunciation Church shooting was broadcast, affirming & solidifying our mission to protect those who need it most.
Who is Paidion Shield?
Paidion, the Greek word for “beloved child,” represents those we are called to protect.
We accomplish this mission through:
* Reality-based training
* Material support
* Facility vulnerability assessments
All delivered by warriors with decades of real-world military and law enforcement experience—men and women who continue to serve with courage, conviction, and compassion.
The accompanying video was impromptu content during a charity auction whereby Paidion Shield’s training was offered for charity & successfully auctioned for $10,000. Meanwhile, @realDonaldTrump President Trump’s autographed photos from his TX Hill Country visit were auctioned for a surprisingly lesser $2,250. This auction data alone highlights the immense need for education & training for critical events.

@hwinkler4real Tough. For the Auto Industry, it goes like this:
After decades of hard work, and you FINALLY buy that luxury car like Mercedes, just add $20,000+ of tariffs to purchase a new one. Not to mention repair costs for replacement parts.
