When I just started working, my family didn't have a proper suitcase. We used to have those bags made of clothes, that my dadi had made. And I didn't realise my bags were strange.
Soon enough though, I saw people's expressions when I carried it to a few trips and bought a suitcase for me in a few months. People don't realise that some people are getting to do their "normal" for the first time not only in their own life, but also in their whole family's life. Subtle (and not too subtle) class exclusion is everywhere.
