Meet Ivory Mathews, NAHRO 2025-2027 Senior Vice President! Sworn in at the National Conference & Exhibition in Phoenix on September 30, she believes “through collaboration, innovation, and relentless advocacy, we can build stronger partnerships, amplify our voice in policy discussions, and deliver comprehensive solutions that serve the diverse needs of the 8 million families we represent.”

Currently the Chief Executive Officer of Home Forward in Portland, OR, Ivory is a community-focused leader with over 20 years in the affordable housing industry. She has held various positions within NAHRO at the national, regional and state chapter levels, most recently serving as chair of NAHRO’s Legislative Network Advisory Committee.

Meet Sean Gilbert, NAHRO 2025-2027 President. Sworn in at the National Conference & Exhibition in Phoenix on September 30, he “is excited to help lead the organization towards achieving our shared vision of thriving communities with affordable homes for all.”

Currently the Executive Director of Tennessee Valley Housing Services in Morristown, TN, Sean has worked in the affordable housing industry for over 30 years. He is a past President of the Kentucky Housing Association (KHA), past President of SERC-NAHRO, and a multi-term member on the NAHRO Board of Governors.

Last night, FY 2025 ended without Congress passing an FY 2026 appropriations package, triggering a government shutdown. NAHRO has updated its shutdown resource page with the latest information, and HUD’s most recent contingency plan is on the HUD website.

Update: Last night, HUD confirmed that tenant-based rental assistance and project-based rental assistance will be excluded from the Federal rental assistance pause. Shortly thereafter, a federal judge temporarily blocked the order until Monday, Feb. 3. This morning, NAHRO staff continue to hear that eLOCCS is still inaccessible. If anyone is able to access it, please let us know.
