#Eritrea's Delegation led by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh met, yesterday in Washington, with US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Ms. Allison Hooker, and, the Assistant Secretary for Africa, Mr. Frank Garcia ,respectively.
In the meeting with the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Minister Osman welcomed the removal of unilateral sanctions which must be seen as a positive and vital step for turning a new page in Eritrea-US relations.
Eritrea's objective is to create the basis for constructive, mutually beneficial, and genuine partnership in the period ahead. The new chapter should enable us to recoup missed opportunities; pivot towards enhancement of trade and investment; as well as explore and leverage new prospects for genuine partnership that eschews structural dependency, FM Osman stressed.
Minister Osman also referred to the need for further review of unwarranted policies of pressure pursued by previous Administrations. He elaborated on Eritrea's modest and constructive role in the promotion of peace, stability and security in its immediate and wider neighborhood which encompasses the Horn of Africa; the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden; the Nile Basin, and the Wider Gulf Region. The Minister expressed Eritrea's earnest hope to cultivate collaborative efforts with the US in these ideals as well as in the mechanism of cooperation charted out by the littoral States.
The Under Secretary for Political Affairs, for her part, underlined that the lifting of sanctions stemmed from President Trump's commitment to nurture bilateral partnerships based on mutual benefits. This will contribute to the crystallization of warm ties of cooperation between the two countries. Ms. Hooker further remarked on the broad convergence of broad themes of cooperation envisaged by the two sides in these initial and preliminary meetings.
The meeting with the Assistant Secretary State, Mr. Frank Garcia, was likewise focused on broadly similar themes. The two sides agreed that future talks will focus on more profound and concrete consultations for the promotion of trade and investment; regional peace and stability, as well as resolution of pending matters through constructive dialogue.
Potemkin Party political novices and minions (Abraham Belay et al) are mendaciously trying to weave a new "legal" pretext for the reckless agenda of conflict and war that the regime has been doggedly pursuing against Eritrea for more than three years now.
The transparent and pathetic ploy rests on re-packaging/couching PP's illicit agenda of war for "sovereign access to the sea" and projecting "naval military power with strategic depth in Eritrea's southern coastal zone" in the language of "self-defense".
But this wicked and deceitful approach cannot find currency or traction anywhere.
The indelible facts are - and this is in the public record as illustrated in the link below:
1. Potemkin Party's senior political and military leaders have been wedded to an expansionist war agenda and have made multiple provocative statements to that end in the past three years;
2. As corroborated by the testimony of none other than Getachew Redda, PP's aggressive agenda in fact precedes its first public pronouncement by its leader in October 2023.
3. Indeed, in August 2022 and while the war was raging in the Tigray Region, the Potemkin Party proposed to the TPL,F during the peace talks in Djibouti and Seychelles, "to bury the hatchet and join forces to invade Eritrea as the ultimate, common, enemy".
4. The Potemkin Party has also continued to host and sponsor notorious, even if inconsequential, Eritrean subversive groups (RASDO etc..) for the purposes of "regime change".
In a nutshell, and coupled with its myriad acts of regional destabilization, the culprit and source of instability in the region which continues to flout international law with impunity is, and remains, the Potemkin Party with its delusional aspirations of "regional grandeur".

Your “fresh” produce is now coated in a Bill Gates-funded toxic film you CAN’T wash off.
Apeel Sciences — bankrolled by Bill Gates and the WEF — is spraying fruits and vegetables with a synthetic preservative that turns your grocery store haul into a chemical experiment.
This invisible coating contains dangerous industrial solvents like ethyl acetate and heptane, both linked to serious organ damage and brain harm. It also hides “citric acid” derived from genetically modified mold that’s been tied to cancer risks. Shockingly, 99.34% of the ingredients are kept completely secret from the public.
Independent tests have even detected dangerous levels of heavy metals — lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury — embedded in the coating.
Worst part? It’s been quietly approved for organic produce and requires ZERO labeling.
You may be swallowing this poison every single day without knowing it.
Your family’s health is being gambled with for longer shelf life.
Seek out local farmers' markets, small independent family grocers, garden co-ops or grow your own to assure that your vegetables and fruits are toxin free.
Through out history, #Ethiopian leaders, like many in #Africa, have been acting on behalf of foreign powers in one way or the other, and never on behalf of their people or region. #Ethiopia has never been truly independent! 👇this is just the latest mutation...
Commendable progress in ensuring maternal and infant health
Keren, 18 March 2026 – As a result of sustained awareness-raising activities in health facilities, commendable progress is being registered in ensuring maternal and infant health in Keren city.
Sister Almaz Mebrahtu, head of health facilities in Keren, said that as a result of the strong efforts carried out, last year pre- and post-natal care coverage increased to 90%, while vaccination coverage for children under five years of age rose to over 95%.
Sister Almaz went on to say that, in addition to the professional advice and regular follow-up being provided to women, they are also receiving HIV/AIDS counseling, treatment for syphilis and hepatitis, as well as cervical vaccination for girls between 9 and 15 years of age and tetanus vaccination for women between 15 and 45 years of age.
Furthermore, Sister Almaz said that, as part of the effort to control the prevalence of non-communicable diseases, free diagnosis of hypertension and diabetes is being conducted for people over 40 years of age, and efforts are being made to assess the health condition of students through visits to schools.
In Keren city, there are five health stations providing health care services to the public.

Headquarters of Unity, Ground Zero of Betrayal.
The country that hosts the African Union now stands accused of enabling the very chaos it claims to stand against. Reports of Ethiopia allegedly hosting a covert training ground for the Rapid Support Forces a militia tied to mass قتل and destruction in Sudan cut deeper than politics, they expose a dangerous contradiction You don’t get to wave the flag of Pan-Africanism while opening your doors to forces accused of tearing an African nation apart.
This isn’t just about Sudan it’s about the credibility of African unity itself. If an African state allows foreign-funded militias to prepare for war against fellow Africans, then Pan-Africanism becomes nothing more than a slogan used for speeches while betrayal happens behind closed doors. The same divide-and-destroy tactics once used by colonizers are now being recycled from within, turning Africans against Africans for power and influence.
If these allegations hold weight, then this is no longer silence or neutrality it is complicity. And history won’t remember speeches at AU summits; it will remember who stood for Africa and who helped burn it.

The New Map of the Red Sea – Energy Sovereignty, Geopolitics, and the Eritrean Gateway
Red Sea Beacon
A few months ago, I wrote a short article titled Assab to Abadan: The Price of Oil, Sovereignty, and the Road to the Red Sea. Today’s article provides a deeper understanding of those same issues, exploring the current global energy crisis and the future potential that lie within our region.
This article maps a dramatic geopolitical shift in global energy flows amid the ongoing Iran conflict and Hormuz blockade, positioning the Red Sea as a vital alternative corridor for oil and gas exports. It emphasizes Saudi Arabia's Petroline pivot to redirect millions of barrels daily to Yanbu, skyrocketing energy prices and underscoring the need for secure bypass routes.
Eritrea emerges as the pivotal "Eritrean gateway," with its strategic 1,200 km coastline enabling proposed pipelines from South Sudan/Ethiopia to Massaw/Assab ports and an LNG terminal, potentially transforming Eritrea into a regional energy hub through Free Energy Zones, alliances with Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and a transition toward green energy sovereignty—ultimately redefining Horn of Africa power dynamics away from Persian Gulf vulnerabilities.

Ethiopia: Belligerent Agenda of Regional Destabilization;
(Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Research and Documentation Division)
*"...Over the past two years, Ethiopia’s Prosperity Party (PP) regime has indulged in a reckless and insidious agenda of belligerence and destabilization against the State of Eritrea and the wider region. The hostile and unprovoked agenda has often been framed and rationalized in 'existential' terms; as the 'imperative for sovereign access to the sea' in the regime’s hyperbolic parlance".
*"...The elusive and toxic agenda continues to be flaunted by invoking and recycling fallacious and revisionist historical narratives; alluding to demographic factors that revolve around Ethiopia’s relatively big and growing population size; as well as reciting abstract economic parameters and correlations that are at odds, and in contravention with, foundational pillars of international law".
*"...From the foregoing chronology of events and facts, it is palpably clear that the PP regime’s misguided and deplorable agendas, which have no basis in law and history, are anathema to regional peace and stability. And while remaining committed to constructive regional engagement and peaceful cooperation, Eritrea, for its part, firmly rejects any claims or actions that infringe upon its sovereignty and territorial integrity in flagrant contravention of international law. As underlined on various occasions in the past two years, the Government of Eritrea has no interest or appetite to engage in an acronymous agenda of conflict and turmoil. It remains resolutely committed to peace, stability, and the responsible management of regional relations".

Remembering Afabet: Nadew Command Falls, Eritrea Prevails
38 years ago, the courage of Eritrean fighters shook the foundations of the Nadew Command. In the heart of the Afabet, ordinary men and women became immortal heroes, proving that no army can defeat a people united by freedom and purpose. The echoes of their struggle continue to inspire every Eritrean, reminding us that independence is not a gift but the prize of sacrifice, vision, and relentless determination. We walk free today because they refused to be defeated.

Guest Column - Lies, Calumny, and Obscurantism: Potemkin Party’s Modus Operandi Cannot Change the Immutable; by Yonas Araadom
*"...Invoking connections with a distant past in an attempt to legitimize the quest for sovereign sea access runs counter to historical reality. While it is hardly necessary to delve into the ancient and medieval history of the Horn of Africa and Northern Africa, it is worth noting that various civilizations arose at different times, sharing neither historical, political, nor geographical continuity. These include the Land of Punt (c. 2500–980 BCE); the Adulite Civilization, which flourished mainly in the Eritrean coastal lands and both predated and coexisted with the Axumite Empire (1st century BCE–8th century CE); and the Axumite Empire itself (1st century CE–740 CE). In addition, various fiefdoms with disparate centers of power and limited territorial reach emerged across disconnected regions".
*..."Conjuring up the debunked fabricated myths of continuum and congruence to justify encroachment upon or invasion of a sovereign neighboring country constitutes a grave and unequivocal violation of international law, the UN Charter, and the Constitutive Act of the African Union. In reality, Ethiopia’s political presence in Eritrea’s coastal lands was limited to the bogus Federation and subsequent Annexation periods, spanning from 1952 to 1991".
*"...The Potemkin Party’s recurring claim that its loss of sea access resulted from 'agreements' or 'political mismanagement' is nothing more than a denial of reality. It epitomizes a dogged refusal to acknowledge the forcible eviction of Ethiopian occupation after three decades of a costly war, with deleterious consequences to the peoples of Eritrea and Ethiopia. In the event, PP’s officials are desperately clinging to myths, excuses, and historical revisionism to conceal their irredentist ambitions".

Remarks by Ambassador Sophia Tesfamariam , Head of #Eritea's Delegation, at 2nd World Summit for Social Development, Doha; 6 November 2025
*"...For Eritrea, social development is not a matter of external policy prescription or a target to be met through dependency. It is an inalienable sovereign right, a paramount national responsibility, and the very fundamental object of our arduously-won independence. Our developmental philosophy is firmly anchored in the twin, indissoluble pillars of Self-Reliance and Social Justice. Self-reliance, to the Eritrean spirit, signifies the emancipation of the mind from any culture of subservience or dependency. Social Justice, for its part, is the ultimate telos of this self-reliant path. It is the rejection of a model that concentrates wealth in urban centres while neglecting the periphery. Eritrea’s commitment to these cardinal principles is reflected in the tangible progress achieved across different social sectors, often with limited resources and in the face of sustained external hostility".
*"...As we convene in Doha, we must look forward. The international community bears the ethical duty to address the structural injustices that persistently hinders equitable development. It must immediately cease the application of coercive measures, promote genuine partnerships, and reform global governance institutions to reflect the realities and voices of all nations, not merely the powerful few. The State of Eritrea stands resolute and determined to build a future where every citizen lives a life characterized by dignity, health, and opportunity".

Massawa — the pearl of the #RedSea — has long been a centre of geopolitical gravity. Throughout its ancient and storied history, empires from across the world sought to claim the city and its strategic port as their own. Yet, in 1990, through the remarkable military prowess of its own indigenous people dubbed as 'Operation Fenkil' , Massawa’s sovereignty was rightfully restored to #Eritreans.
When peace, stability and cooperation finally prevails in the Horn of #Africa, it will take only a few short years for #Massawa to reclaim its place as a vibrant, world-class port city — driven by the ingenuity and industrious spirit of its people.
A Resilient #Eritrea - Community Action for a Prosperous Future; by UNDP Eritrea
*"...Eritrea’s journey stands as robust evidence of this principle. The nation has demonstrated strong leadership by investing in the bedrock of sustainability: climate-change adaptation infrastructure and community empowerment. The extensive network of dams, the vast terraces for soil conservation, and the millions of trees planted are not merely projects – they are a national shield against the impacts of climate change. These efforts, supported by the Government and embraced by communities, are actively restoring ecosystems, strengthening livelihoods, and securing food for future generations".
*"...At the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), we are proud to collaborate with the Government and people of Eritrea as we advance this shared journey. Our partnership is strategically aligned with national aspirations and priorities and grounded in the principle of self-reliance. We see our role as a catalyst, supporting initiatives that directly place the tools of prosperity into the hands of Eritrean communities — especially women and youth, whose energy and innovation drive transformation".

[MUST READ ARTICLE] Inventing the Past: Abiy Ahmed’s Prosperity Party and the Myth of Assab
https://t.co/JknEWHPZV9
#Ethiopia’s ruling party is rewriting history to justify a false claim over #Eritrea’s Red Sea port. This is not a strategy — it is a desperate and dangerous trajectory that risks dragging the war-prone Horn of #Africa into another cycle of instability and conflict.
It has become a declared mission of Abiy Ahmed’s Prosperity Party to “revise the narrative” of how Ethiopia lost access to the sea — particularly the port of #Assab (Asseb), one of Eritrea’s two principal ports.
In his now-infamous address to Parliament — an audience reduced to taking notes and applauding on cue — the Prime Minister announced: “We need to revise the history and narrative of how Ethiopia lost its connection to the sea coast, with distinct reference to the port of Assab.”
Over the past two years, this revisionist project — the so-called Red Sea quest — has gathered full momentum. Turn on any major Ethiopian TV channel or scroll through state-aligned social media, and you might think Ethiopia faces no greater crisis than its lack of a coastline. Poverty, inflation, corruption, and civil strife are conveniently pushed aside in favor of a single manufactured obsession: the imagined “right” to Assab.

President Isaias Afwerki met, in the late afternoon hours today at the Denden Guest House, Mr. Guang Cong, the new UN Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa.
In the extensive discussions which focused on developments in the Horn of Africa, President Isaias noted that UN role and track-record in the resolution of conflicts in the region has not been effective and will require a new approach.
In this respect, President Isaias underlined that mere deployment of Peace-Keeping forces without rigorous accountability modalities and holistic underlying frameworks could not indeed bear the desired results. But the blame cannot be attributed to the UN as the problem essentially stems from the prevailing flawed international order, President Isaias stressed.
President Isaias also referred to the shortcomings of regional organizations whose efficacy have been compromised - despite the lofty objectives enshrined in their mandates - due to unwarranted external interventions. In most cases, the regional organizations have become vehicles for external agendas.
On the situation in Sudan, President Isaias emphasized the historical ties and partnership that bind together the two countries. In this spirit, Eritrea had submitted, in 2022, a concept paper on the establishment of a popular governance structure based on citizenship in its sincere efforts for a modest contribution for the restoration of peace and stability in Sudan. But the initiative could not make much headway due to external interventions which have only exacerbated the conflict.
In a brief statement to the Eritrean News Agency, the UN Special Envoy stated that his visit to Eritrea is part and parcel of his engagement in the region. Mr. Guang Cong further expressed his satisfaction in the fruitful discussions that he held with President Isaias Afwerki; paid tribute to Eritrea's contributions in the resolution of conflicts in the region; and affirmed his full readiness to work with Eritrea for the promotion of regional peace and stability.
Ethiopia’s Assab Port Obsession: Beyond the Realm of Rationality
Republished from: https://t.co/512O7paAJu
*"...The adage that 'necessity knows no law', which seems to obsess many Ethiopian elites, is inapplicable when it comes to immutable international norms. This inveterate obsession with sea access—driven by emotion, frustration, and political failure—cannot override the sanctity of colonial boundaries or justify any attempt to redraw them".

#Eritrea's core development precepts and strategies are indeed crystal-clear and anchored, from the outset, on the following key pillars:
*To foster symmetric and diversified trade and investment ties of cooperation with all its prospective international partners (public and private) that are not encumbered by debilitating and structural dependency for cogent reasons of sustainability and national dignity;
*To ensure ownership of its development policies and programmes both at the formulation/design levels as well as in all their implementation phases;
*In this perspective, self-reliance is not perceived as tantamount, or equivalent to, self-sufficiency. Indeed, it presumes and is predicated on nurturing and pursuing vibrant trade and investment networks in all its sectors of comparative and competitive advantage for optimal value-addition and fair share of the revenues that are generated.
*Rich and diversified as its latent natural endowments are - blue economy; the extractive industry; strategic locational advantages etc.; the development of Human Capital occupies a central role in this holistic development matrix to ensure and guarantee both sustainability as well as operational efficiency and effectiveness.

*"...At the hospital we visited, we saw state-of-the-art facilities, from functional digital X-ray machines to even AI-powered X-ray machines. Of course, Asmara is the center, but strengthening and equipping hospitals around the peripheries with advanced facilities like this aligns with the Eritrean mandate of leaving no one behind. It’s about making sure that what is available in the center also reaches the hard-to-reach, making it very accessible to every Eritrean"; Dr. Nonso Epraim, WHO Acting Director
*"...the deepening of the partnership between the UN and the government, and the strong relationship that currently exists, is one takeaway. The second is something related to the vision of the country. The country really has a vision which has a sense of purpose. In addition to that, I believe the narration of the country must change. The narrative must change to tell the real, positive story of this country. This is why, going back, I’ll be an ambassador of Eritrea to tell what good resides here in terms of the people and in terms of the government’s vision to ensure that development reaches everybody. The third one is personal: that everything is possible when you believe in your purpose. I think this has been the spirit of Eritrea all over these years. They believed and were consistent on what they have believed and their purpose, and this is my personal takeaway"; Mr. Mathias Zana Naab, Director of UNDP Regional Service Center
