Spirit Warriors
This series of images created as an Ai experience, portrays women as warriors adorned with flowers instead of weapons. This series is inspired by the first memory of my childhood suffering domestic violence with my mother and sister.
Caption This.
I named this week’s entry into my collection “Eloquent Silence,” Caption This. It refers to The New Yorker’s “Caption This Contest,” in which editors invite readers to add a caption to one of their iconic cartoons. Most times the cartoons depict a classic New York moment. This photo taken some time ago reminds me a New York long gone, when people picked free newspapers from street vending boxes. The corresponding story is a journey into this man’s mind at the end of 2012, when conspiracy theorists had predicted the world would end.
I invite y’all to caption this as well. Be bold, brutal and creative. Like New York.
Dropping tomorrow, Sept 19 at 12pm EST.
Set your reminders!
In "Mutaciones" Agustín Fernández Mallo writes that slicing through an image is like cutting through reality to see what’s behind the curtain of our eyes. That’s why I love photography. It is a living organism. It breathes. It bleeds. What you see in my new collection “Eloquent Silences” is only veneer. There’s a universe inside the world and I aim to unravel it with words.
