This Freedom Walk in Hulimavu is about reclaiming footpaths and making them safe and accessible for pedestrians.

From broken footpaths and encroachments to vehicles parked on pedestrian spaces, Bengaluru’s footpaths are often made unusable for the very people they are meant for.

We walked the stretch, documented the problems and raised them because every citizen deserves a safe place to walk.

When rainwater covers deep craters, our roads turn into deadly traps for daily commuters.

The core issue isn’t just broken asphalt; it’s a completely broken civic system lacking decentralization, local representation, and basic accountability. We cannot tolerate these dangerous conditions anymore.

1. BNP firmly stands behind all safety protocols and every single part of the process should be gone through before the line starts.
2. Our source says that all approvals have been obtained. If so, it should not wait for anyone's inauguration and should start immediately.
3. If one approval is still pending, it is the obligation of the Government to transparently put out the stage at which it is in and when it is expected to be done. This is the least that citizens need to be provided. It is our money and a service for us.
4. VIP Culture needs to stop. The metro or, for that matter, any other project should not be inaugurated by politicians but should be inaugurated by citizens. BNP promise is the same that we will not indulge in inauguration by VIPs when we are in power.

Kicked off the Freedom Walk in Hosa Thippasandra! 🚨

At Hosa Thippasandra Halasahalli Road, our Freedom Walk brought us right in front of a state-run primary school where children and residents are forced to navigate completely deplorable roads. Despite multiple written representations and complaints submitted to the panchayat office, residents report not even a 1% improvement. Locals shared how terrifying the conditions are: there is practically no proper road left, forcing vehicles to swerve recklessly to dodge deep potholes. Parents are forced to pull their kids out early just to manage the dangerous commute, wondering why basic infrastructure and safety remain entirely neglected in the Anekal constituency. Citizens united on this walk to demand transparency on allocated budgets and urgent action.

Just TWO WEEKS after Bannerghatta Road was laid, BWSSB has dug it up again!

Crores spent on laying the road, only for it to be torn up days later. Where is the coordination between civic agencies? And who is accountable for this waste of public money?
