Why are we sending billions to foreign governments and charities while we can’t balance our own budget or pay down what we already owe?
If you want to donate your own money to charity, more power to you. But the federal government doesn’t have extra money to give away—it’s borrowing from future generations just to cover current spending.
@brivael@elonmusk I saw a documentary about the Milgram experiments when I was 16. Because of it, I spent the rest of my life questioning authority. It made me the libertarian I am today.
@MiltonFriedmanW Thank you for saying it so succinctly. Is everyone listening? Government needs to stop doing charity altogether. Whatever it is, if the private sector is doing it government doesn’t need to.
@EricLDaugh@elonmusk If the Republicans kill the filibuster, they may as well toss the keys to the U.S. government to Bernie Sanders and get it over with. Why can’t they see past next week?
@NikkiHaley Congressional whores have promised so many people so much money in order to get elected and reelected that we can’t afford to pay everyone. The deficit is fiscally unsustainable and politically unreformable.
