I shared my experience a couple of weeks ago of my 5 hour wait when I went in to do my biometrics then subsequently the wait when I went to pick up my passport a week later. You need to do better as a Department
@HomeAffairsSA I have been waiting for more than 30 minutes now after requesting the Manager at Benoni Home Affairs office to address my complaint. This disdain by your staff to citizens is absolutely appalling, what happens to member of the public who do not have access or recourse to tweet
@HomeAffairsSA Your dept's lack of regard for citizens is beyond distasteful. Why would people not be directed to the queue that provides for the service that they need instead of making them wait aimlessly in queues when they clearly state what service they need to access from your offices.
@HomeAffairsSA The inefficiency of your Benoni office is beyond perplexing. I arrive and explain the service I need. I am told to stand in queue which I have been in for 3 hours only to be told that I need to stand in the queue for fingerprints and photo which will be another 3 hours
@HomeAffairsSA Nothing on your site avails the e-applications channel only to people who live close to the banks you have partnered with, if this is the case it is discriminatory and holds no value for the ordinary South African. With a system that does pre-capturing why is HA inefficient
@HomeAffairsSA If you have created a system that allows for online application why then do your offices not separate queues for services people are coming in for especially as you have a system that can easily sort services as institutions such as banks do, which would ease congestion
@HomeAffairsSA If that is the purpose why do you offer the option to go to Home Affairs. You should only offer the option to apply at a bank for applicants using the online system which clearly means you are offering it as an elitist system rather than making the application process easier
@mgigaba@HomeAffairsSA Why do Home Affairs offices close at 15:30 when you advertise 16:00 and even when you ask the staff you are cut down and told that they close at 15:30 and the website has not been updated and there is a point blank refusal to call a manager when requested
@mgigaba@HomeAffairsSA Please can you explain why if I have utilized your online application system and paid, I cannot be assisted at any of your offices unless I queue with people who are still starting their application process instead of waiting in the fingerprints queue
