Watch as the Austin police have released body camera footage showing officers confronting and taking down the gunman who opened fire inside a bar in downtown Austin. Three people lost their lives as 16 others were injured in the attack. Multiple officers can be seen rushing toward Ndiaga Diagne, 53, a Senegalese immigrant, before opening fire and stopping the suspect. According to Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis, the suspect had only one known prior interaction with law enforcement a 2022 welfare check related to concerns about his mental health that was initiated by an outside agency. Ryder Harrington, 19, Savitha Shan, 21, and Jorge Pederson, 30, tragically lost their lives in the attack.
