Beatriz Roldán Cuenya : "The most rewarding component of being in this field is its intrinsic interdisciplinary nature, which gives you the chance to interact with scientists in a variety of research fields, from chem. eng. to chemistry, physics, materials science, and biology."
@yoongkhean 3rd, because of this in silo work, I need to read more by myself and put raw ideas with citations/refs. on the manuscript draft. No time to organize the flow of the ideas yet.
@yoongkhean 2nd, in Msia, people write way too many reviews papers due to pressure on KPIs i.e. no. of citations/publications, H index. Not really scientific research here. 3rd, people don't collaborate in Msia even in large networks. They simply put their names on the authorship list.
@yoongkhean Many factors. 1st, in Msia access to scientific journals is too limited. Unlike my PhD in NZ, I can easily access any journals I like. So, refs./citations are not an issue. Anytime I can put citations. 2nd, the nature of my research has changed.
