Today, at the NANS National Inauguration, we declared a State of Emergency on students’ hostel conditions across Nigeria. The worsening state of accommodation in many tertiary institutions has become unacceptable, and NANS is committed to ensuring that students are provided with safe, conducive, and habitable living environments.

We also announced our decision to relocate the NANS National Headquarters to Anambra State as part of our efforts to demand the immediate release of our student leaders, who are being unlawfully detained and oppressed. We strongly condemn what we consider the illegal detention of our comrades and call on Magistrate Nnamdi Aduma, who also serves as the Financial Secretary of the Magistrates’ Association of Nigeria, to ensure that justice prevails and that due process is respected.

NANS will continue to stand firmly in defense of the rights, welfare, and freedom of Nigerian students. We will not be intimidated or silenced in our pursuit of justice.

NANS PRESIDENT APPOINTS COMR. KUKU ISAIAH EROMIDAYO AS DIRECTOR OF PUBLICITY AND STUDENTS' ADVOCACY

BREAKING: The National Association of Nigerian Students has engaged the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, over the suspension of the institution’s Students’ Union Government President, James Adio.

Sequel to my earlier post today condemning the unjust suspension of FUOYE SUG President, I had an extensive discussion with FUOYE Vice-Chancellor.

I expressed our fierce resentment towards the suspension of FUOYE SUG President, Comr Adio James. Going forward, I made known the position of the national leadership of NANS over the unjust persecution of the President. Subsequently, I expressed a fierce opposition to this development, and expressed utmost dissatisfaction forthwith.

The Vice-Chancellor on his part, narrated the situation that led to the suspension of the President, and immediately, I appealed to him to allow us reach a common ground to resolve the matter amicably.

Furthermore, the Vice-Chancellor promised to look into it, and assured me that there will be a progressive resolution at the next senate sitting on Wednesday.

On a final note, the Vice-Chancellor intimated me that he has ordered an impartial and thorough investigation into the activities that led to the release of the President’s private life to the public . He assured me that everyone involved will be brought to book.

To this end, I appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for his fatherly response and also reiterated our stance that, under this administration, we won’t allow any form of Intimidation of any form towards Nigerian students.
