London's #charisma
swells midafternoon
when the hum of tube
beats like a heart,
pavements vibrate in the rain.
Hunched buildings
crouch by skyscrapers.
Thames' inky tentacle
swirls with oil.
My blood's infected
with this dirty, gritty city
yet I always return 4 more.

A #pillar of summer props up the day: sun heated tarmac melt soaks the dense air. A dog barks in the park, the sky cracks wide open blue. Just like back then, just before their world tipped over the edge. #vss365
Iโm itching to sign up an exciting new author. I would love something with an intriguing and fresh idea behind it, beautiful writing and a quick pace. Think The Recovery of Rose Gold, Girl A, The Vanishing Half and Lessons in Chemistry. Keep those submissions coming! #amreading

Grey silk ribbon of sleep unravels, cascading down into the pit of night until its frayed ends disappear into darkness. Burning eyes hungry for rest watch until the dawn finally comes. #vss365
#snowflake veil thickens the sill and the sea below her window cracks open with splinters of ice. How far away she must be now, the woman thinks, as she falls in love with the ocean that carried her there. #vss365
Water, sharp as winter, ripples a #choir past the dipping willow. Low-slung sun casts autumn full across the field we had known. Ripe damson smell rots the ground; she had been gone, and it had all waited for her, this land carved into our heartbeats. #vss365
You and I | #poetry by @NaomiFrench16
Slough off your old skin.
Let me cover you with the tide,
salt draping your bones.

Sunlight will #gore my red rimmed eyes, the seconds will pass too slowly. My heartbeat will still to a lumbering thump and night will slip through my fingers like silk. I wait. We wait. The silence rings loud. #vss365
As the #dust of the day settled on the city, the inhabitants readied themselves. With the red sun gone behind the carcasses of skyscrapers, they had precious few hours until dawn. #vss365
