I recently came across a few tweets questioning for the immutability of @MorphoLabs markets.
The argument was that once a curator allocates capital and someone borrows it, the curator can no longer manage the risks of an ever-changing market in real time.
I understand this perspective to some extent, because meeting the constantly shifting demands of diverse liabilities against diverse collateral assets across multiple markets is inherently difficult.
And, the rationality of Morpho vault curators rarely aligns with the goal of achieving overall efficiency — meeting borrower demand through capital allocation driven by the collective intelligence of curators..
That said, I see this simply as a difference in design choices and/or in how complementary components are arranged.
Every lending design comes with trade-offs that emerge depending on the stage of growth.
For example, @eulerfinance offers a high borrower UX, where users take on only the trust risk of parameters set by a single market curator, but it requires a certain level of literacy from lenders (except in Euler DAO markets). Although Euler Earn seems to be addressing this.
Conversely, Morpho offers a high lender UX (you just deposit a single underlying asset), but borrowers need a certain level of literacy. More diversified curators and /or an aggregator that routes borrowing positions across different markets (varying LTVs, assets, or swap paths) might complement this dynamic.
Meanwhile, monolithic lending protocols like @aave enforce risk exposure defined centrally by the DAO on lenders.
In any case, I simply respect that high-quality debates like this are actively taking place around topics in lending🫡
Been following @NapierFinance since V1 days.
If you need a refresher Napier is like @pendle_fi , but totally permission less. Anyone can become a curator and create a PT/YT market for any assets.
Today they launched a new product Napier AMM, by leveraging @Uniswap v4 hooks.
No more ideal liquidity , you can build a lot of features that makes your liquidity productive and efficient
lets take rehypothecation - If you LP is still ideal, @NapierFinance will have options to deposit them into @aave or @MorphoLabs etc.. to earn yield and when the assets are needed in the pool, they come back. Everything is automated.
No more ideal assets, your assets are productive and always working for you.

Recently, Napier has asked all curators to either refrain from actively deploying new markets or set maturities around a specific date. This is in preparation for something better to come.
June 19 maturity.
