The sad truth is that Muslims often choose to remain silent when their own people are being killed or slaughtered.

Just recently, a girl in Sokoto spoke out about how innocent souls are being killed and raped. At that time, many people were heartbroken, crying, and expressing their feelings. But shortly after, the government intervened and gave them a small amount of money just enough to twist the story and make them pledge to the world that they have peace in their villages and that no one is after their lives. They even claimed that the girl who made the video was only creating content for attention. That’s the North for you.

Remember, the girl who tried to help them doesn’t even live in that village, but those people that’s the only home they have. The painful truth is that their villages were destroyed by bandits, yet the government gave them a little money to cover it up, destroying their dignity and putting that innocent girl in serious trouble.

The same thing is happening with the so called Arewa PR people. They think praising their governors is a way to gain favor, even though they know the governors are doing nothing for their people. Many villages are not safe, yet they collect small amounts of money to destroy the reputation of their own states.

I’ve never seen southerners hyping their governors when they know those governors are doing nothing.

When a southerner sees a post about their religion or their state, they read it, repost it, and make it go viral.

But in Arewa, people only engage with posts that violate someone’s rights for example, a nude leak, a fight, an insult, or gossip about someone’s secret. When you post something important, they ignore it completely.

Let me be clear: there’s no reason to insult Christians for demanding their right to practice their religion in peace. They see themselves as one body, if one of them is not safe, then none of them are safe.

Unlike us, who accept small amounts of money to sell our people’s peace of mind and help destroy our own states in the name of politics.

And unlike Muslims, when terrorists claim to act in the name of Islam though we all know they are not Muslims but we fail to make it known to the world that these people do not represent Islam.

We take religion seriously only with our mouths, not with our hearts.

A single post will only go viral in the North if it’s political or exposes someone’s secret.
