Spalletti to Conte to Allegri at Napoli is a very interesting story arc.
Personally I don't think Napoli fans will be too welcoming of Allegri as his football is the antithesis of the historical identity of how Napoli plays, to paraphrase Spalletti during his Scudetto winning season.
In fact, many Napoli journalists were critical of Conte's football branding it as being too defensive. If Conte was too defensive, I don't even know what to brand Allegri.
This criticism was in part the reason behind the toxicity that plagued the environment that Conte referenced in his goodbye press-conference.
From Allegri's perspective this very much feels like last chance saloon for him at the highest level, as he's been sacked from his last two jobs at Juve & Milan.
I can't help but feel that Allegri will only be appointed IF Italiano declines Napoli. It's also interesting given that the Azzurri job is vacant. Allegri has been discussed but those links have completely died down. Understandably so.
Finally, you have a takeover attempt of Napoli by Matt Rizzetta & his firm, which if successful changes everything at Napoli, should De Laurentiis sell (he can't turn down $2 Bn USD regardless how the deal is structured).
Regardless, important times ahead for Napoli.
Why are we shocked?
Did we forget their โfightโ in Milan-Napoli?
Or that he of all people was the one substituted after โ20 mins at the Etihad when DiLo got sent off?
๐๏ธ๐ง๐ช Kevin De Bruyne:
"Am I happy that Conte is leaving? For me, yes. For me, he shouldnโt stay. Am I staying? I think itโs important to talk about the way football is played. This year I realized that the style of football is very important to me. It has to remain enjoyable, and unfortunately I missed that a bit." [Nieuwsblad]
@rafcziczi_ Gilmour doesnt play
KDB is 30% of the real KDB
Vanja / Meret both OK but also not irreplaceable
Spina great, but injury prone and one of the oldest (iโm talking about regular reliable starters for next year, not squad players)
Neres injury prone
Conte: โMy objective when starting with Napoli was to leave behind a solid group of playersโ
Rrahmani
McTominay
Alisson Santos
Vergara
Hojlund
For everyone else in the squad, and the flops on loan, i can name a few reasons for them to go (salary, age, recent performances, etc)
So, does Conte really think heโs leaving behind a solid team?
Or does he think 2nd place is the best he can do with this aging group + a smaller mercato next summer?
OUT 15 MAY.
My first book, The Neapolitan Scot.
Imagine a Netflix doc on the life and career of Scott McTominay. This is the book.
I've spent the last year of my life working on this project.
It's World Cup ready.

Great episode,
Interesting picks from Vini, Dom and Matias.
Agree with Matias on the next coach. Felipe Luis sounds intriguing but I donโt think Napoli pull that trigger.
Interesting segment on which players we should keep and sell ๐
Most definitely an episode to watch ๐บ
@snajaths Favors as in a bad decision to inter made them lose points vs napoli in the title race
Not that napoli orchestrated anything or that it was done explicitly to favor napoli
I would suggest reading the original
Also, thereโs 5 games under investigation. This one isnt one
Bro i am employed mid week from 9 am to 10pm ๐ญ๐ญ
Anyways, to answer, if VAR was used incorrectly vs inter, as we were in a title fight, it would โfavorโ Napoli. But that doesnt mean Napoli orchestrated anything.
There were 100s of calls potentially like this last year, to every team.
What the judges need to examine is if there was even ONE of those calls or refs orchestrated by a club. That is the key.
And the only the club where that may have happened (at least once) is Inter, from what we know about the San Siro meetings.
Obviously does not mean every decision went your way (such as this one).
But all you need to be guilty is ONE that you were directly involved in
