🇵🇸 Julian Assange turned a casualty statistic back into 4,986 people.

At Cannes, he wore a shirt printed with the names of 4,986 Palestinian children under five reported killed in Gaza.

No slogan on the front. Just names, packed together until they almost became texture.

Which is strangely fitting for Assange.

His life's work was built around taking things governments preferred to leave buried in files and putting the individual records in front of everyone.

At Cannes, he did it without publishing a document.

🇮🇱🇦���� Netanyahu reportedly received a personal warning about October 7, and never passed it on to Israel's security chiefs.

A new Haaretz investigation, based on reporting for an upcoming book on the hostages, claims UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed called Netanyahu 10 days before the attack and spent 45 minutes warning him that Yahya Sinwar was planning a massive operation against Israel.

Netanyahu reportedly brushed it off, telling bin Zayed he believed Hamas was focused on the West Bank and that Israel was prepared for any scenario.

The heads of the Shin Bet, Mossad and the IDF were reportedly never briefed on the call.

Netanyahu's office is denying the story outright, calling it "an absolute lie" and saying no such call with bin Zayed ever took place.

Former Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar and former IDF Chief of Staff Herzl Halevi both say they were never informed of any UAE warning.

So did Netanyahu bury a direct warning, or is this just a book trying to sell copies?

Bear in mind that Netanyahu has already admitted allowing Hamas to receive funding when he could have stopped it because it allowed him to "control the flames"

He also said in a recent interview that when Oct 7 happened, he knew immediately it would reshape the Middle East and give him the justification to attack Iran

In that context, if these allegations are true, he had every reason to ignore the warnings
