[Ayussh Sanghi @ayusshsanghi]

A 35 year old software engineer jumped to his death yesterday in Noida. The Supernova society is 15 minutes form my house and I cross it on a daily basis.

I want to dig into the reason why this happened. He was going through a messy divorce where alimony went beyond the roof. The 35 y/o man and his father had fallen in huge debt and still more of it had to be given. With no option or recourse he plunged to his certain death leaving behind old parents who would keep crying and accusing themselves of not being able to do enough for their son.

No parent should live to see this.
No son deserves such a death.

Our marital laws are gender biased. They favour the females, more than needed and required. Appeal to the legislature and judges - please change the laws and make them gender neutral. Even if alimony is to be given it shouldn't go beyond the reach of a person's net worth.

How many more Sambhavs before you understand this?

#justice

[Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj @DeepikaBhardwaj]

Sambhav Jain will be in News for just one day like Judge Aman Sharma was

THESE MEN GET NO JUSTICE IN INDIA

No commission for men that cares for these lives

5 months since Aman Sharma suicide.

ZERO ARRESTS

[Venkatesh Alla @venkat_fin9]

Since someone was denied water 3,000 years ago, apparently the answer today is 90% reservations. Fine, then let those demanding 90% reservations also shoulder 90% of the income-tax burden. If we're going to talk about proportionality, apply it consistently.

[chacha monk @oldschoolmonk]

It wasn’t suicide. India’s extremely unfair and inhumane divorce laws for men killed Sambhav Jain.

[Venkatesh Alla @venkat_fin9]

Abolish the SC/ST Act. It is a draconian law that is widely alleged to be misused, and safeguards against misuse must be taken seriously. No law should become a tool for harassment or false cases.

[Bro🚨 @SwayamTewari]

#SCSTAct is the real jihad GCs are fighting against.

So these computer cars don’t work in the rain. Bring back a proper engine.

Statement by Forum for IT Employees (FITE)

We express our deepest condolences on the tragic death of Software Engineer Sambhav Jain and stand with his family during this devastating time.

Reports indicate that he was facing a combination of serious medical expenses, overwhelming debt, marital and financial distress, ultimately leading to a tragic loss of life.

This raises a larger question for the government:

Every IT employee pays Professional Tax. Employers and employees also contribute towards the Labour Welfare Fund. But when an employee and his family face a sudden medical or financial crisis, where is the safety net?

Why can’t a portion of these funds be meaningfully used for:

🏥 Emergency medical assistance for employees and their dependents
💰 Financial support during catastrophic medical situations
🧑‍💼 Emergency assistance to employees facing sudden job loss
🧠 Mental-health and counselling support
👨‍👩‍👧 Family assistance during extreme financial distress

Professional Tax should not remain merely a collection mechanism. Labour Welfare Fund should mean welfare when employees actually need it.

An IT employee may earn well on paper, but one medical emergency, job loss or family crisis can push a family into unbearable debt.

We urge the Government of Maharashtra to review how Professional Tax and Labour Welfare Fund are utilised and create a transparent Employee Emergency Welfare & Support System.

Employees contribute to the system.
The system must stand with employees when they need it most.

India was relegated from Pro League, failed to qualify for 2024 Olympics after his departure, and now, with Sjoerd Marijne back as coach: Nations Cup champions, historic 5th-place World Cup finish, Asian Games Champions and direct Olympic quota.

Sjoerd Marijne, you are a hero.

🥇 KUMKUM MOHOD! 🔥

That. Is. Sensational.

A groundbreaking moment for Indian archery: the first-ever recurve individual gold medallist in the history of the Asian Games. And Kumkum does it by beating two Koreans and a Chinese star on the way. 🫡

Quarterfinals, Kang Chaeyoung – a decorated Korean star with an Olympic gold, multiple Worlds golds & top seed here – knocked out.

Semifinals, Zhu Jingyi – China's reigning world championships silver medallist and former world No 1 - knocked out.

Final, Oh Yejin – 2023 junior world champ - knocked out after a stunning last set of three 10s and a 10 in the shoot-off.

This is the stuff dreams are made of. Actually, not even sure you can dream up a scenario like this!

Kumkum, 17 years old, and history-maker. 🎯

As expected, he's been declared "mentally unstable." I wonder why all the "mentally unstable" Muslims vandalise temples instead of mosques.

SC/ST Act: 14 Cases, Endless Court Dates & an Upper-Caste Family Forced to Leave

Women in the family say they want to die. The mother is begging: if my son is guilty, hang him. Just decide.
The village is afraid of those who file SC/ST Act cases. This family left rather than wait.

How one law became a tool of fear and income, and turned a village into a courtroom with no judgment. @Keshavmalan93 Keshav Malan’s report, soon on OpIndia YouTube. Subscribe.

[The Athletic | Football @TheAthleticFC]

It was a seemingly innocuous email, sent on a Wednesday morning in January 2017, that started everything.

Arriving in the inbox of a senior official at Manchester City, it appeared to have been sent by an employee from European football’s governing body, UEFA, and contained a link to a financial compliance report.

The City official clicked the download button. That was all it took.

It was not a genuine email from UEFA but a successful phishing attempt by Portuguese hacker and activist Rui Pinto. City’s servers were breached, allowing Pinto to retrieve thousands of emails and documents from the club’s systems.

This week, almost 10 years on from Pinto’s first email, the Premier League announced that an independent panel had found City guilty of all but one of the charges against them, as The Athletic first revealed last Friday.
