They still exist: about 3 years ago I went looking for the Otogi Juushi Akazukin OVA, and the only way I could watch it was a 4 part YT video from 2008!

@KobayashisEgo I had that same line of thinking when I was in my early to mid 20s and the only result was that I became miserable and nearly quit anime.
No one is telling you to watch everything, that's just bad for your health, but so is pretending there's nothing new that piques your interest
