The world tells me to believe in myself.
Scripture exposes me as the problem.
"For I know that in me
(that is, in my flesh,)
dwelleth no good thing."
Romans 7:18
Scripture says you must be bought back.
"For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."
1 Corinthians 6:20
The Cross and the Blood of CHRIST are a ransom receipt.
@PastorTomHughes@GoodShepherd316 We live in a world where people will thank you for saving their body, applaud you for saving their finances, but resent you for trying to save their soul.
Before I had a name,
before I had a story,
Jesus already was.
He is not just part of my life,
He is the beginning of it.
The same Word
that stood with God and is God
now speaks into my darkness,
and every time He speaks,
something dead in me comes back to life.
Your works cannot open Heaven.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Ephesians 2:8-9
Stop trusting your way.
"But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ."
Philippians 3:7
Not "Christ plus everything."
Just Christ, and suddenly everything else loses its grip.
