Last year, the Black Healthcare Awards brought together over 𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 for a powerful night of celebration at Westminster, London.

With 𝟯𝟬 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝟭𝟱𝟳 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 candidates, and hundreds of nominations received from across the UK, the awards shone a spotlight on the remarkable contributions of Black professionals who are driving change, breaking barriers, and delivering outstanding care every day.

Now, nominations are officially open for the Black Healthcare Awards 2026, taking place in London on 4 July 2026.

#WorldAIDSDay as faith leaders unite against HIV stigma
1st December is World AIDS Day – a day where we remember the journey we have taken this far as a community and the journey ahead towards zero new transmissions by 2030.

Today we'll be sharing messages from faith leaders who have joined us in the fight to end HIV stigma. Hear from Muslim faith leader Zainab as part of our Faith & Health project in collaboration with Gilead Sciences
HIV is not a punishment from God. It is a health condition that can affect anyone and with testing and treatment, people can live long, healthy lives.

We're also marking World AIDS Day with a special drop-in session through the Black Ribbon HIV Project, led by our Community Champion @FabiolaBayavuge MScPH, MA,BA. 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘐𝘯𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘌𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺

Today we were gathered alongside fellow @Health_Equals member organisations at the House of Commons, united in the call to tackle health inequalities head-on. The message was urgent and impossible to ignore: there is a 16-year life expectancy gap between the richest and poorest communities in the UK. Health should never be a postcode lottery.

We echo #HealthEquals in saying that health is shaped by far more than hospitals—it’s about housing, income, education, clean air, and meaningful opportunity.

We heard from @afzalkhanmcr, @ashleydaltonmp, Paul McDonald and Darren McGravey whose testimony brought raw, lived experience to the forefront.

This is not just about fixing systems—it’s about valuing lives equally under the 10 Year Heath Plan.

Since the Windrush scandal, CAHN has marked Windrush Day annually, honouring the Windrush Generation through reflection, celebration, and community visibility.

This year, for the first time, we celebrated #WindrushDay in both Greater Manchester at Alexandra Park and London at Tower Hamlets Town Hall.

In East London we hosted the “Windrush Day: Tower Hamlets Black Health & Wellness Fair” blending #heritage with health equity.

In Manchester, on Saturday 21st June, hundreds gathered at Alexandra Park to take part in an uplifting day of #culture, remembrance, and #community. With this year’s theme “A Tapestry of Cultures: Roots and Routes from the #Caribbean to Greater Manchester”, we celebrated the deep and diverse connections that continue to shape our cities and identities.
