🧵🧵
This past Friday, I received a Prime Minister's Teaching Certificate of Excellence.
🇨🇦🧮
I'm proud to call myself both a Canadian and a teacher, and so the honour has been humbling.
Many have reached out an offered kinds words and congratulations. Thank-you!

@realJ_Mitchell@DebbieKasman For me the question is: Which basic?
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge advocate for aphorisms; however, they should be filled with meaning.
So this weekend Elham Kazemi claimed that pronouncing the word “tomorrow” as “tuh-MORE-oh” meant that I had an accent.
Then she went and said, “tuh-MAR-oh”
Just wild.
Spring is just around the corner!

@robertkaplinsky@NatBanting I use fraction talks every Friday for my warmup with my 8th graders - we call it Fraction Friday. It’s so valuable for Ss to see how others broke apart the shape to justify their response.
