Sound and vibration seem to be the key force organizing these patterns — shaping matter, life, and even consciousness as higher-level intelligence.

On forgiveness for his difficult childhood:

"What is forgiveness? I don't think I have resentment. So nothing to forgive. I try to think about what's going to affect the future in a good way. And holding on to grudges does not affect the future in a good way."

On what he's learned from his kids:

"Developing AI and watching my son X grow is fascinating. There are more parallels than I would have expected. I can see his biological neural net making more and more sense of the world, and I can see the digital neural net making more and more sense of the world at the same time."

Lex asks: "Do you see the beauty and magic in both?"

"Yes. One of the things with kids is you see the world anew in their eyes. To them, everything is new and fresh. And when you see them experience the world as new and fresh, you do too."
