4 and 5 year olds arriving at school in nappies would not have happened 5 to 10 years ago.... Why?
Because basic #Parenting has bizarrely vanished.
Toilet training, eating at a table, cleaning teeth, making a bed, tying shoe laces, crossing a road, reading, writing.... These things are boring and can be torture to teach to toddlers who scream if you take away the ipad.
And for parents it's much easier to sit scrolling, addicted to screens, unaware that hours have passed.
We've got a generation of lazy, tech-zombies waiting for a teacher to be a proxy parent.

Things I couldn’t do without a TA.
1) Interventions.
2) Support for children who need it in a class of 31.
3) Going to the toilet.
4) Having a friend in class.
5) A warm cup of tea when I come back from break duty.
6) Navigating drama so I can teach.

-Take the phone away at night. Your kid isn’t getting enough sleep.

-Don’t believe everything your kid says. They lie…A LOT!

-Teach your kid to have some grit. Also teach them to be nice!

-Stop blaming everyone for your kid’s issues.
