@AayeMuhMaan @PeteNakos Super unlikely to ever play out, its basically a nothing change because college kickers can’t kick 65+ yards consistently so you would probably never see someone fair catch a punt at mid field. I don’t think the fair catch kick has been attempted very many times in NFL history.

@sqew_jake @PeteNakos Yes, its a free kick after a punt, so if you fair caught a ball close to the 50 and you think your kicker can hit a 65+ yarder for example, you can send him out there for a free kick without a defensive rush. Very rare scenario where you would fair catch a punt near mid field.

The Miami win tonight reenforces my belief we have to start viewing the CFB regular season for playoff caliber teams like we’d view the NFL season. The goal is getting to the postseason peaking. You’re going to take a dumb loss (or two) in the middle of the season but arriving to the postseason playing your best ball is more important than the results of games in October.
