1. I left Christianity for the sake of my morality, not despite it.
2. I’m more peaceful, consistent, grounded, and hopeful than ever before.
3. “Being thrown around by every wind and wave of doctrine” describes American Christianity far better than it describes secularism.
So people look OUTSIDE of God for answers and find themselves being thrown around by every wind and wave of doctrine. I’ve been here. When God & morality are out of the picture you now have license to make decisions that can wreck your marriage, family, mental health, & body. 🧵
What the guy from The Bear is doing for the greasy-haired thirtysomething dirtbag with bad tattoos community is enormous. representation is so important.
I could follow my film peers in explaining why this black and white 7 hour film from the 30’s is better than whatever you’re enjoying… but that’s kinda just being an asshole.
I went and saw Interstellar while I was *in film school.* I absolutely adored that film. It made me feel things I hadn’t felt in a theater since I was a kid.
If you just enjoy what you enjoy instead of running it through the “is this normie” filter, you’ll have a better life.
