There's something very effective about the Western mindset, which explains why a minority can control the majority. Western power relies on destroying, rather than building. Destroying is quite powerful because it can undo work done for days, centuries, millenia in a matter of minutes. I keep saying that the challenge facing the rest of the world is to find out an appropriate response for such people. It's mindboggling. The closest parallel I can think of when a child kicks tantrums in a supermarket and holds parents hostage because the parents are embarrassed and don't want the child to start breaking things. We can think of Euro-America that way, except that their tantrums are more than psychotic episodes. They are also bombs and nuclear weapons.

The problem is that the South Africans already know this, but the country appears to be trapped in the same kind of end-stage national psychosis afflicting the US, where ⅓ of the population is legitimately insane, and the remaining ⅔ act like hostages of the ⅓.

I myself have am tired of saying that it's only a minority and that most South Africans are not represented by this, because even if that is true, it no longer matters. The lunatic minority is clearly in power and there's nothing the South African majority can or will do about it.

Just 32 years after the end of Apartheid, you wouldn't think that the newly freed population would be on the brink of shooting itself back into captivity, but humans have an endless capacity to surprise you🤷🏿‍♂️
