@petra_miszczak Like Teodora mentioned it is a double edged sword. I want to add to that and ask how you think something like that implemented here would work? Have you had any experiences where a professor went too far? (If too personal you do not need to answer).
@VittGonzalez I think in a way this can be related to politics. I feel that typically more people that are republican are Catholic. With that in mind, do you think that these religious beliefs changed any outcomes of the election?
This is healthy and does not put a damper on what people want to say. People have the right to speak against something they believe is not right. That is something that I respect, I think we saw that this last election; personally my friends would often talk politics openly.
To poke a hole in my last tweet, I feel it is also important to have safe conversations and as Jonathan Haidt puts it conversations in "good faith." #Digital_Identity#EME4390006
I do not think that cancel culture is a good thing, in America people do have the right to voice there opinions. There is an obvious line where people should stop listening to people being hateful towards other groups of people. That should be enough to "cancel" that person.
Certain universities have a way to report professors anonymously, if they say something that is offensive. I find that interesting and should be something that more universities take up on. Not because I like cancel culture, but being respectful. #Digital_Identity#EME4390006
I find this interesting and in some way slightly true. I know it is not the professors intention to put political opinions out there, but in a way it is who they are; it does influence the way we think. I know for me I have grown as a person because of these experiences.
There is a culture war that is going on between young adults. And it is going on at universities. People claim that these institutions are swaying the minds of its students like puppets. #Digital_Identiy#EME4390006
I used to be very religious, but have moved away over the years. I remember always taking time to pray whenever anything bad happened. I think that it is important to keep peoples thoughts close because it shows that you care.
As it turns out so many people end up "praying" for so many of the tragedies that go on around the world. I do not want to offend anyone, however, I wonder how many of these people actually mean it and take time out of their day to do so. #Digital_Identiy#EME4390006
If only more of the people on the ballot put forth this effort in the states that they did not try in. If any of the candidates took more time in some of the big swinger states they could have had a bigger impact than what we saw.
There is something called the 80/20 rule. Never heard about it? Well it applies to many aspects of life. Political, business, you name it. If you put 80% of your results should come from 20% of your own effort. #Digital_Identiy#EME4390006
Although I would love to share this view I know that online voting would be a huge disaster right now. As Mark Ryan puts it, there is no real way to verify the identity of someone perfectly online (maybe with blockchain), not to mention how easy it is to rig such a thing.
@Nikki__113 @Haleemah0527 You are not wrong at all, my field will be relying on it a lot. I guess it is something that everyone is just going to have to get used to unfortunately.
I am strongly against big data, it is such an invasion of privacy. What is the point of having privacy settings if big corporations are going to look all over our profiles and messages. #Digital_Identity#EME4390F21006
Social media has a huge influence politically and has been showing people what they want to see. It allows other countries to "infiltrate" and use social media against us, #Digital_Identity#EME4390F21006
