We are very concerned about the potential impact of a proposed EU Common Training Framework (CTF) on physiotherapy standards in Ireland.
The CTF would introduce automatic recognition of physiotherapy qualifications across EU countries based on minimum standards. This risks lowering training standards and impacting patient care.
We are calling on Ireland to take a clear position to protect patient safety and high-quality services.
The proposal is progressing now, with a consultation deadline of 23 June 2026.
Vice-President Nathan Cardy has more on what this means and how you can help.

@BlaithinBrady1@colmc_physio@MihaiVioreanu Really great to see this @BlaithinBrady1@MihaiVioreanu and team. Confirms what I see in clinic. It would be very interesting to see group plyo comparisons at 9-12months post op and 20-30yoa too. I imagine you're right about timeline, especially in athletes younger than 20.
It has been brought to our attention by https://t.co/BuEG1TlZC7 that there are ads purporting to be from the ISCP doing the rounds on facebook. These use an old logo, and the name is wrong, so please don't be fooled.
As our Annual Conference closes, we'd like to say a huge THANK YOU to the incredible Conference Committee, led by Chair Courtney Feike, for their time, dedication and hard work in making #ISCPConf23 a resounding success! 🧵🧵
We are thrilled by this announcement to #ISCPConf23 from Health Minister @DonnellyStephen on ionising radiation. We have long advocated that physios should be able to refer for x-ray. We are delighted to work with the Minister and @roinnslainte on this. Great news!
