@abhijitwt Software engineering is easy to augment but harder to replace. It’s much more likely other role will collapse in to it, adding more responsibility.
@james406 This misses the point. Before AI, I skimmed plenty of documents. They just weren’t that important to me or I only needed part of the info. AI lets me skim the document and focus on what matters easier. Yet, I still read entire docs that matter.
@Lauren_Southern@paleochristcon Why would anyone trust you? Is this the real Lauren or another grift? Admit you are just looking for popularity and don’t care about principles.
@AndrewK404@nobrainflip Exactly. These people don’t understand that these valuations are as much about perceived future value as it is about current actual value. They are only revealing their own ignorance.
@MadelaineLucyH I stand by the claim that those who fire people due to AI vs reshuffling and retraining will lose out to those that do. Even if it had worked it’s a narrow sighted play. Market competition will win out.
@bendee983 Completely agree. If you are going to try unproven experimentation then at least time box it. Otherwise measure the impact of AI against real outcomes. “We shipped two features 30% faster to customers with high adoption rate” vs “that was fun, but we got nowhere”.
@shub0414 How is this different than anything that came before it? People will always try to make fast money and others will be there to monopolize on their gullibility.
@SenSanders If removing the aid led to an outbreak then it was always a bandaid and never the cure. This absurdist approach to helping people has to stop.
