2020 has been rough on many fronts. In the moment, anecdotally, it felt like "#freelancing" could be added to the pile. Finally crunched the numbers: pitched 47 pieces (v from 2019), landed 8 (v), for a batting avg. of ~.170 (v, lowest since I starting tracking closely in '17)

Tonight was the first game where the Thunder never had a shot late. #OKC was up with a 1m left in both G1 and G3 and somehow lost both (G1 in particular was egregious given all the over-thinking/coaching). Can't decide whether that's unlucky or insurmountable for a 7-game series.

That's excruciating quarter closes in both the 2nd (from up 12 to up 3) and the 3rd (from tied to down 8). Woof. #OKC just hasn't been able to snag a lead to even try and extend it since late in the first half.

Some of the Shai late quarter decision making has been tough (those early threes in the shot clock in Q4 last game linger). I hate that contested two trying to get a 2-for-1 with ~30s left in Q3 here. Why not run offense and get one good shot, maybe go in down 4? Now it's 8🤦‍♀️#OKC

Shai was bad. #OKC was bad from 3 and bad at the FT. AND YET just one more possession of offensive execution in regulation at the end would've flipped it. Shit. Feels like two games blown already (though this one maybe less in OKC's control given the poor shooting)

Shai doesn't have it, JDub does, yet #OKC didn't seem to realize it with the way the offense was flowing in the late 4Q. Daigneault needed to call a TO and script something rather than another Shai force. Bleh.

I don't get what the Daigneault instruction was with #OKC up 3 and less than ~15s left. They had that scenario and twice chose to foul immediately (v. burning some clock then trying to avoid a 3pt); once with Jokic on the sideline! Why risk a FT battle?
