I count it a privilege to have friendships in our American Hindu community, many of whom immigrated from India and other parts of the world legally, and are known for their strong family values, decency, commitment to educational achievement, and robust work ethic.
I believe America is great when her families are strong, America is noble when she is free from hatred and bigotry for all people groups, and America is just when it upholds the law equally. In particular, I am thankful for the strong family structure that is part of the Hindu Community. I condemn hatred and bigotry against Hindu Americans. I welcome immigrants who come to the United States by following the process to come here legally.
As a Christian father and former elected official who served 12 years in the Maryland House of Delegates, it was and remains my belief that in our American system it is the responsibility of elected leaders to see that the constitutional rights of our citizens are protected and honored.
At a time when the Biden/Harris Administration’s policies favor illegal immigration, the Maryland Hindu community is a reminder of how this nation can prosper and grow through commitment to family, personal integrity, and respect for the rule of law. All Americans deserve the legal right to worship according to the dictates of their own conscience, and to live without fear of harassment for their culture and beliefs. If elected, I will be proud to represent Maryland’s Hindu community and to fight for their interests.
