A 76-year-old British man from Southampton appeared in Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court wearing the same burka he wore during an anti-migrant protest in Portsmouth on September 12.

Timothy Miller was arrested and charged with wearing a face covering to conceal his identity. He pleaded not guilty and remained in the burka throughout his court appearance.

The judge asked Miller to briefly lift the veil to confirm his identity before adjourning the case for trial on February 16.

Miller was released on unconditional bail.

Toronto police say a 24-year-old man allegedly posed as a Grade 12 student, entered a Toronto school and sexually assaulted two students.

Shaffat Hussain of Toronto has been charged with sexual interference and two counts of sexual assault.
