Her continued commitment to protecting sacred sites, clean water, public lands, and future generations reflects the kind of leadership many New Mexicans are looking for.
For decades, Tribal leaders, advocates, Pueblo communities, Apache leaders, and the Navajo Nation have stood together to fight for stronger protections in the Greater Chaco Region against harmful oil and gas developments.
In 2023, Deb Haaland helped secure historic protections for the region through the 10-mile buffer around Chaco Culture National Historical Park, protecting hundreds of thousands of acres from future leasing and development.
Her priorities are:
✅ Protecting voting rights
✅ Supporting working families
✅ Expanding opportunity and access
✅ Investing in stronger communities
Amanda is running to build a New Mexico where every family has the chance to thrive. 🙌🏽

Meet Amanda Lopez Askin, therapist, public servant, and advocate for New Mexico families.
As Doña Ana County Clerk and a former therapist supporting children in foster care, Amanda has dedicated her life to helping others and strengthening her community. ✊🏽
In our communities, we take care of one another.
Just like Arlene Joseph made sure everyone was fed, Deb Haaland is working to make sure every New Mexican has access, opportunity, and support.
From early childhood education to strong schools, supported teachers, and real opportunities after graduation, the future of New Mexico depends on how we invest in our students today.
