Angkor Wat in Cambodia is one of the most famous places in the world, and rightly so.
But what is it, who built it, and when?
Well, the first thing to say is that Angkor Wat stands at the heart of a colossal, abandoned city...

According to news reports, a Myanmar military plane (ATR72-600) requested permission to land in Mae Sot, Thailand, as surrendered soldiers and civil servants, including police officers, immigration officers, and court officials, flee from Myawaddy.
Myanmar's revolutionary groups, such as the Karen National Union (KNU) and the People's Defence Force, are seizing control of Myawaddy, a crucial location for Myanmar's overland trade with Thailand.
Previously, the military junta had already been ousted from significant areas along the Chinese border in Shan State and the Bangladesh border in Rakhine State.
