Former NBA superstar, Charles Barkley describes America as a "homophobic society" while speaking on closeted NBA players scared of coming out:
"We live in a homophobic society, and that’s unfortunate, Anybody who thinks we ain’t got a bunch of gay players in all sports, they’re just stupid,” But there is such an atmosphere toward the gay community, and that’s what’s really unfortunate." ( Via Out Magazine)
According to the U.S. Census, a record number of LGBTQ+ couples are living their best lives and society hasn't come to an end despite Republican warnings.
Beauty In Black actor Steven G. Norfleet speaks on being a proud Gay man:
“Why is being gay such a hot topic sometimes? It's always something that people may love to talk about, we may see it in the media a lot. People may have different reasons of why that is the way it is. But my reason, so we be popping. We popping. We are amazing. We are incredible, different, creative. beautiful, outstanding human beings. And sometimes for some people, that can be a lie. But a bright light can be a lie for some people, but I never think that bright light should be. That's why I think being black and gay right now in this world, it's beautiful”.
