Please join the @NLHistoricTrust tomorrow night as we celebrate those who are doing their best to preserve the built heritage of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Take a peek into what's been going on in my back yard; and listen to my usual ramblings about heritage, preservation, development, and adaptive reuse...

@Vote4Russell @LukeQuinton I'm not exactly sure when that new west end main line was constructed but probably around the time of construction of the Riverhead Station in 1903 (Railway Coastal Museum)
@Vote4Russell @LukeQuinton I believe the Old track followed more or less all the way in Empire Avenue, Blackmarsh Road all the way into Mount Pearl. The "new" line heading to the Riverhead station branched off near Blackmarsh & Topsail. Red is Trailway. Yellow is BM Road (Old Track).
@LukeQuinton Dominion of Newfoundland? 😆

There are some interesting happenings on Lazy Bank this summer!
This latest project starts with an archeological survey by Era Nova which has been super interesting.
Thanks to @Patrick__Butler for putting this piece together!

Curious about what I'm up to when at sea? Check out #EastHarbourHeroes on @DiscoveryCanada tonight! Take a look behind the scenes of the old Sanderling! You might even catch a glimpse of yours truly making a fool of himself 😅
Here's Joel showing off our antique lifeboats...
@James_Taite@readmyramblings@DarrenMcLean_uk And around here (in Newfoundland and Labrador) it doesn't matter how big the eaves are when the wind is driving the rain horizontally! 😋
@LukeQuinton I see the Ayre's building still intact. The absence of Atlantic Place in that picture is the biggest place making contributor that I see...
At the National War Memorial in St. John's with the Prime Minister in attendance on Canada day, and Union Jack's, not Canadian flags, are being handed out. I love this place. The morning of July 1st will always be for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. Canada Day can come later.
It's about time I've put my own nautical stamp on this old house. 881 lbs, one of a pair, plucked from the bottom off Cape St. Mary's by a dragger back in the 1980's.
@LukeQuinton @CityofStJohns I'd like to see transparent sign boards that show you what a scene used to look like years ago. Specifically lost historic buildings and street scapes. Think the Old Post Office, Anglican Parish Hall, Former City Hall etc.
