In the first video, a Muslim Woman, travelling alone in a train from Silchar, Assam was abused, body shamed and insulted in a very deragotary way by common Hindus. Her bag was searched for meat items.

In the second video, MEA Secretary, Sibi George says,

"...We are one sixth of the total population of the world, but not one sixth of the problems of the world. We have a constitution which guarantees the fundamental rights of the people. We have equal rights for the women of our country, which is very important...We believe in equality, we believe in human rights...If anyone whose rights are violated, they have the right to go to court...We are proud to be a democracy..."

In Juhapura, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the death of a 70-year-old man identified as Zaheer Shaikh after being taken into police custody has triggered serious allegations and protests.

According to reports and claims made by family members and activists, Zaheer Shaikh had been arrested in connection with a case involving alleged possession of beef. Videos related to the police action against some accused in the case had circulated widely on social media earlier.

Family members and local groups have alleged that Zaheer was subjected to custodial violence, including physical assault, and claimed he named certain police personnel before his death while undergoing treatment at SVP Hospital in Ahmedabad.

Members of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), including Gujarat leaders and local cadres, visited the family and demanded action against the police personnel allegedly involved. The party described the incident as a custodial death and called for justice for the victim’s family.

MP Teacher Harassed for Sharing a Poem. High Court Just Called It Out.

Faizan Ansari, a govt school teacher, shared a WhatsApp status... an Urdu poem on women's rights.

Right-wing groups protested. Police summoned him, seized his phone, allegedly tortured him and slapped BNS 353(2) on him.

10 months later, Jabalpur HC quashed the FIR... ruled the poem had zero hate content, zero incitement. Just literature.

A Muslim man shared a poem about women's rights. That was enough to ruin 10 months of his life.

The accused, Maganoo Singh, in the murder of Roshan Khatoon was welcomed with firecrackers and slogans by family members and villagers after being granted bail in Madhubani, Bihar, raising serious concerns about the ground response to the case.

Maganoo Singh, the son of the village head and the only person arrested among the 19 accused named in the lynching, was received in a celebratory manner despite facing allegations in a brutal killing. Roshan Khatoon was tied to a pole and beaten by a mob during Ramadan while she was fasting. Her family alleges that she was forced to drink a mixture of alcohol and urine before she later succumbed to her injuries.

The public welcome of an accused in such a case has intensified questions around accountability, the handling of the investigation by @bihar_police, and the broader law and order situation in Bihar.

The Name Test

A 15-year-old Muslim girl from Bijnor was groomed over six months by a 22 year old man, Titu Pal, who promised her love and an escape. He convinced her to drug her family's tea.

While they lay unconscious, he and his associates robbed the house. Then, instead of the elopement he had promised, they took her to a banquet hall and gang-raped her.

The accused are all Hindu. Titu Pal, Vishesh, Ritesh and one juvenile.

The girl is Muslim.

Now run the name test. Flip the religious identities and ask yourself what the news cycle looks like.

You know the answer.

Instead, there is strategic silence. Not a single English-language national outlet covered this story. No NDTV. No Indian Express. No Hindustan Times. No Times of India.

The story never crossed into the English media ecosystem, which is where national narrative gets set and where international attention flows.

The English press buried the story. The Hindi press buried the girl.

Regional Hindi outlets did cover it. And the language they chose tells you everything.

Navbharat Times ran this headline: "Beti ne pilai maa baap ko nashili chai, usi ke saath ho gaya bura kaand" (Daughter gave her parents drugged tea, and then the bad thing happened to her.)

Amar Ujala went with: "Parijano ko nasha dekar nikli kishori, premi ne 3 sathiyon sang kiya dushkarm" (Girl who drugged her family and left, raped by boyfriend and three others.)

She is "kishori." He is "premi." The victim is framed as a participant. The perpetrator gets a term of endearment. The assault becomes a consequence of her choices, not his crime.

Can anyone seriously claim this language would have been used if the girl were Hindu and the accused were Muslim?

The headlines would not say "boyfriend." They would say "jihadi." The girl would not be "the one who drugged her family." She would be an innocent Hindu daughter, lured and destroyed.

The framing is the politics.

There are reports suggesting the main accused has affiliations with Hindu nationalist groups. If true, this case is not just an irony. It becomes something considerably darker.

But we may never find out. Because the media that would have investigated every WhatsApp contact of a Muslim accused is not going to ask that question. Not this week. Not any week.

Love Jihad was never a legal category. It was always a narrative tool. Its job was to frame every Hindu-Muslim romantic interaction as predatory by definition, with Muslim men as the default aggressor and Hindu women as the default victim in need of protection.

That framework has no architecture for this story. So the story doesn't exist.

The girl exists. Her testimony exists. The FIR exists. Three men have been arrested.

But for the outlets that turned a slogan into a political weapon, this particular crime, with these particular names, is simply not news.

The silence is not absence. It is a position.

A 26-year-old pregnant woman, Nida Khan, was turned into the face of a national outrage within hours.

Called a “mastermind.” Some branded her terrorist, absconding. Projected as an “HR head.” Dragged into wild conspiracy theories.
Now reports suggest she wasn’t even in HR, wasn’t absconding, and hadn’t worked in the Nashik office for months.

So what was this?

An investigation… or a full-blown media trial?
A workplace complaint became “Corporate Jihad.” Rumours became headlines. And a woman’s life became collateral damage.

If she is guilty, let the law punish her.
But if she is not -who takes responsibility for this public lynching?

This is not journalism. This is narrative manufacturing.

His name is Abdul Wahid Shaikh.

He was a schoolteacher in Mumbai.

On July 11 2006 seven bombs exploded on Mumbai’s suburban trains during evening rush hour.

189 people died.

Police arrested 13 men including Wahid.

He had nothing to do with it.

He spent 9 years in jail waiting for trial.

In 2015 a court acquitted him. Zero evidence. He walked out.

But 12 other men from the same case were still inside.

For the next 10 years Wahid did not rest.

He fought for those 12 men from outside the prison.

On July 21 2025 the Bombay High Court acquitted all 12.

The court said the prosecution utterly failed to prove the case. Confessions were extracted through torture. Witnesses were unreliable.

19 years. For nothing.

No compensation was paid to any of them.

No police officer was held accountable.

No apology was issued by the state.

Wahid distributed sweets outside the courtroom that day.

That is the kind of man wrongful imprisonment could not break.
