@KyrstensCloset @AsVacation New housing wont decrease the price for that 50%< AMI. Without a doubt. The counterfactual, however, is that not building new housing will raise it significantly. If you think the existing ratio is off, even for home ownership (13-1 in LA), look at the many global cities at 30-1

But their genesis goes back to Great Chicago Fire…but not by activists, but insurers! There’s a lot about the racist roots of CA zoning
