A great video featuring a fantastic colleague on what the role of a Royal Navy Medical Officer and GP is like https://t.co/BIxLDGmJMe via @YouTube@MedicsNavy
125 years of the Royal Navy Submarine Service.⚓️
Here’s to all who have served below the surface - past and present.
They protect. They deter. They defend.

Congratulations to @womenindefence 'Woman of the Year', trailblazing nurse Abigail Wright of @HMSPWLS.👏
She was singled out in particular for her work @HMNBClyde supporting submariners' mental health.

Royal soldiers, who are banned from speaking to visitors in England, are bending the rules for a blind child.
The guard responds to the boy's foot salute by stamping his foot hard on the ground.
Great start to the RCGP conference in Newport with the Academic Department of Military General Practice sharing team training, ideas and a real time moulage scenario for responding to medical emergencies in primary care 👏👏👏 #RCGPAC25
A tree was planted in an emotional ceremony at the Institute of Naval Medicine supported by Doctors in Distress, as part of their Memorial Tree Campaign to commemorate healthcare workers who have died by suicide and as a reminder of the importance of health and well-being.
Ukrainian surgeons and nurses train alongside UK military surgical teams to sharpen their life-saving skills before returning to their frontline hospitals.
More than 50 🇺🇦 healthcare workers have received vital training from @DMS_MilMed & @DMS_RCDM.

Always a huge privilege to recognise the achievements of our fabulous people of the RNMS. An honour to award Sgt Alcorn with the annual Kennedy Prize and Surg Cdr Griffiths with the annual Alan Hurst Memorial prize. BZ to both of you 👏
.@RoyalNavy#Submariners and their families were thanked by His Majesty King Charles for their service and enduring commitment to keeping the nation safe. It was His Majesty’s first visit to HMNB Clyde as Commander in Chief of British armed forces. @Royal Family
I'm always humbled by the achievements of our people.
Last week, I had the pleasure of awarding commendations to exemplary individuals and teams for outstanding accomplishments and operational #excellence.
This is really good: true banter is team building shared humour that can really brighten the shift; but things excused as “banter” can be perceived as bullying too. I like this simple checklist ⬇️
Congratulations to the Medical Centre at @DartmouthBRNC on a successful GP training accreditation visit, forging great training links with the local NHS Dartmouth Medical Practice. @DefenceDeanery@DMS_DPHC_Comd
"Abortion Rates in UK Servicewomen"
Have a read of this letter I recently published alongside @RuthGuest5 and Lt Col Appleyard in the @BMJ_SRH ✨
We wrote this letter to highlight the paucity of data on abortion rates in UK servicewomen. #miltwitter

Delighted to see that Medical Branch Ratings now have a path to become Doctors within the @RoyalNavy without having to leave the service! Med School while earning a salary, military pension and having tuition fees paid is awesome! #medschool#doctor 🩺
@FlyLoganair struggling to understand why the Glasgow - Southampton route is cancelled. As a frequent user I have never been on a flight that was not full.
A big blow to anyone in the Royal Navy, particularly the Submarine service who rely on this route for links with Portsmouth.
