@bydarinstewart What’s good, Darin.
I saw LA on your profile, so if you’re still on the Westside — in my Mack 10 voice — it’s probably still pretty early out there.
I was going to DM you, but it’s not working on my end. I know you don’t know me from a can of paint, but as a fan of your work, I wanted to say that your film, along with a few others, has sparked a real interest in me.
If you don’t mind, would it be okay to circle back with you from time to time and ask a few questions about future episodes?
I’m becoming more and more interested in the craft of filmmaking — the art form, the style, the storytelling how it unfolds, and the psyche behind how producers and creators think through their work.
Peace.
CapCut just launched CRE[AI]TE, a global AI Festival for original AI-assisted work, and I'm excited to be on the judging panel! 🎉
It's a new kind of creative competition: four tracks (Film, Series, Creative, and Commercial), a $200,000 prize pool, and the best part is, winning work gets screened at a major film festival this year.
You'll need to use CapCut's Video Studio somewhere in your process to be eligible.
Submissions are open now through August 10, 2026, at https://t.co/mZnm9TR5Oz. Seriously, go make something.🙌

The opening of THE PRINCE OF EGYPT (1998) is one of the greatest in animation.
From the haunting power of “Deliver Us” to its breathtaking visuals, it grabs you immediately and never lets go.
The "real artists don't use AI" argument took a massive hit in the last 90 days:
→ A24 + Google [$75M]
→ Martin Scorsese is building an AI tool
→ Lionsgate + Runway [equity + access to IP]
→ Netflix bought Ben Affleck's AI startup [$600M]
And today, our first episode became Artlist TV's first AI original series on their new streaming platform. From idea to 19 min episode in a few weeks. Our approach, equip real artists with the AI tools to tell stores.
Thank your to our amazing partners @Artlist_io for giving real artists and creators the opportunity to tell stories and Simone Ferretti for making this happen! Crazy how this came together from pitch to idea to 19 min episode in a few weeks, dream team foreal

Logline: a near-future America where the justice system has transformed punishment into spectacle, condemned inmates are offered one alternative to execution: survive a series of fully immersive historical simulations inside a classified government program called The Arc. Isaac Ward - decorated veteran, drowning father, death row inmate - volunteers not to escape justice, but to buy back his son’s life: days inside history’s most brutal killing fields in exchange for a full pardon and chance to save his son dying from a disease a corporation decided wasn’t profitable to cure. Stripped of his name and redesignated only as FIVE, he fights through the chaos of the 1600’s Japan with one thought driving every swing - if he can just survive long enough, he gets to go home.

thank you that really means a lot, appreciate you taking the time to watch and want to learn more
1. yes it was intentional, over the next 4 episodes we’ll learn more about each character and how they got into the arc
2. we all come from traditional production (music videos, commercials, and television) and never got the opportunity to create big budget ideas, so AI is a tool that allows us to create our ideas and also provide paid opportunities to other creatives with similar backgrounds
3. Frank is fun, Kiri is a badass, but i relate to five the most, a father who would do anything to see his son and family again
hope this helps and appreciate the thoughtful questions

Hi Darin,
Congrats on the release of your series, The Arc. The first episode is amazing. Where I'm from, we'd say "it's fire"
I saw a few of your responses on X, so I wanted to reach out in hopes that you might be open to answering a few questions.
I actually just learned about your handle today, which is one of the things I find very positive about the X/Twitter app. There are so many creators we may not have heard of yet, but I believe it is only a matter of time before AI-generated films gain even more momentum and begin running parallel with traditional industry films. To me, the old days are the old days. Technology has changed the landscape.
Today, I became a fan of your work, and I want to congratulate you, your team, and your colleagues on such a major release.
As a fan, and without giving away the story for those who have not seen it yet, my synopsis is that The Arc feels like it draws from medieval or ancient war genres, while still carrying a strong futuristic element. The way the prisoners’ backstories are being developed is really engaging, and it makes me want to learn more about each of them.
Can I ask three questions?
1. Was the psychology intentional in the way the characters are introduced, and their backstories are revealed bit by bit?
2. What is the motivation behind your production, and what inspired the team members involved in the project?
3. Do you have a favorite character? If so, does that character connect to anyone you consider inspirational, whether real-life, fictional, or historical?
Again, congratulations on the release. I’m looking forward to seeing where the series goes next.
