After almost two months of seeing my dad battle illness and living with constant fear and uncertainty as a family, today we finally left the hospital with renewed hope.

I reached out to Dr. Alton when my dad’s condition had become critical. Even after I explained that we were expecting funds in mid September, he chose to step in and help. He connected us to Professor Dr. Okenny, who not only provided exceptional medical care but also treated my family with such kindness, compassion and warmth while we were at Mulago.

To Dr. Alton, thank you for seeing our situation and choosing to help when we desperately needed it. I honestly do not know how to thank you enough.

Today, we left hopeful. We believe our dad is on the road to recovery, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who has played a part in getting us to this point.

And once again, I am reminded that X can be a powerful place for humanity, connection and kindness. ❤️
