@Brickster86@TheSkepticWiz "The only difference between social slavery and real slavery is hope"
You
Well at least you've changed your argument from slavery to prison. But that's called moving the goal posts.
@ProdiCole@jphayes21@jason_howerton The treatment of slaves has no bearing at all on whether it's chattel slavery or not.
Chattel slavery- "the enslaving and owning of human beings and their offspring as property, able to be bought, sold, and forced to work without wages"

@ProdiCole@jphayes21@jason_howerton Condoning normally comes with regulations btw. But I totally agree there is lots of context around this. But it doesn't change the fact that it's condoning slavery.
@realMichael_90@geofflawnmower@JoshuaTrolly Chattel slavery- "the enslaving and owning of human beings and their offspring as property, able to be bought, sold, and forced to work without wages"
Kidnapping is not required for it to be chattel slavery
@JoshuaTrolly@geofflawnmower It couldn't possibly be that someone simply didn't want to be owned and would rather be free? Wanted their children born free rather than into slavery? Really?
@JoshuaTrolly@geofflawnmower Actually most slaves were not voluntary slaves. So a serious look at your position would mean that most would very likely walk away. Something that not even Israelite indentured servants did in the Bible.
@JoshuaTrolly@geofflawnmower Well then you need to take that up with CHRISTIAN Biblical scholars and convince them of the error of their ways. Because they disagree with you.
And if you only ascribe to things that are specifically said in the Bible, then no more Holy Trinity I guess.
