@HolmesBooth Both of the Richardson films are severely underrated. HOUN (1983) is one of my favorite adaptations of the novel despite its many radical changes.
@joeramoni Just finished watching your video! This looks fantastic in black & white! Please do a full reedit! As a lifelong Dracula fan, I have always had a soft spot for this very silly movie. It is hardly Brooks’ best work, but it always makes me chuckle.
@diabolikdvd@WeekendatMatts Really hope to preorder from you Monday! Even if it’s only to watch the blu rays, this LE seems so superior to the U.S. edition.
@medwardsbooks Really looking forward to reading this. I recently bought a U.S. edition of her second novel, BUT THE PATIENT DIED. Excited to discover a new mystery writer in the Jamesian vein!
@ahsweetmystery@ScreenDrafts @WilliamBibbiani @TheDreaClark @mangiotto Aside from wanting Marnie in part two (it’s my Hitchcock guilty pleasure), I agree with this!
@ScreenDrafts@LTBcomedy@bjcolangelo@ChrisHewitt The number of Draculas and Frankensteins *should* be equal. But if including TASTE THE BLOOD OF DRACULA breaks the tie, then that’s okay with me. Arguably the best of the Dracula sequels to actually feature Lee.
@ScreenDrafts@LTBcomedy@bjcolangelo@ChrisHewitt@GrahamSkipper In a perfect world the following are all included:
Dracula
The Devil Rides Out
The Plague of the Zombies
The Curse of Frankenstein
The Brides of Dracula
The Hound of the Baskervilles
Hands of the Ripper
Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed
Twins of Evil
Curse of the Werewolf
@patrickhwillems Your enthusiasm for trains and train movies was infectious! I was taking notes! And now I’m off - despite everything - to watch The Lone Ranger!
@DrMarkAldridge I have always thought this one was underrated. The real-time aspect doesn’t totally work, but it’s constantly suspenseful and, with Murray Gold’s score exploding as 10 opens the airlock, how can you not be on the edge of your seat?
@ahsweetmystery I suppose the bagpipes were deemed appropriately Scottish for a book about “The Scottish Play” but the claymore swords integral to the plot or even some other bit of theatrical ephemera would have been thematically more appropriate.
