Irlam, near Manchester, was the place I lived for the first six years of my life. Today I visited the railway station having heard it had been significantly renovated. What a transformation! It looks fabulous. Had a wonderful lunch with my mum and uncle in the brilliantly designed ‘middle carriage’ (had to be a pie, didn’t it? 😂) and especially loved some of the signs 😂 Will definitely be back. Congratulations to all involved in the renovations and the lovely staff who looked after us 😄😄👏👏🚂🚂@TheStationIrlam
A very touching piece in this months Local Mag. Registration is free and easy and all they need is a cheek swab to see if you can save a life. Register here at DKMS https://t.co/Btz7NS27FF or via Anthony Nolan https://t.co/AUCuPinY2H . Wishing Dillan and his family all the best.
The team spent the morning litter picking at Linear Park. 2 @Tesco_Exp_Irlam trollies (returned), a van tyre, half a melted bin, some carpet and 10 binbags of rubbish later, we celebrated with a delicious lunch @TheStationIrlam. Thanks @HamiltonDavies for loaning the gear. #binit
Always a pleasure to help out @HamiltonDavies with the Christmas lights in the district. A job that gets bigger every year, literally! - Look how much the fir at St Helens has grown in 6 years, the lights used to shroud the whole tree!
As the nights and weather close in, a timely reminder that all boilers and heating systems should be serviced regularly by a qualified individual. If you are aware of anyone that might be vulnerable, now is the time to check they have access to heat and light. #TuesdayThoughts
Morning well spent helping put up the last remaining poppies on lamp posts in Hollins Green. As they do every year, the Irlam and Cadishead Poppy Appeal have done a wonderful job.
Sadly, it's time for the hanging baskets to come down. Big thanks to @IrlamRotaryClub for providing such a lovely display every year. They make such a difference. #winteriscoming
@BroaDan87 Hi Danny. Not this year im afraid. Willows are tricky to climb and as a result difficult to light up. That's not to say we can't and won't do something with them in the near future. We are always looking out for new spots.
