We have a once-in-a-generation chance to change the future of dementia. Add your name now to help end the devastation.

It will take a society to beat dementia. https://t.co/TkQdHZvQgR

'The care system is really a mess, it's hanging on by its fingernails at the moment.'

Anne-Marie Duff spoke to @BBCBreakfast about the challenges she has faced in finding care for her brother Eddie, who has young-onset dementia.

Is this something you have experienced?

Labour, please don’t do a worse job than the Tories! This is not ok….

[Alzheimer's Society @alzheimerssoc]

The removal of a dementia diagnosis target is unacceptable.

It sends the message that dementia doesn’t matter and highlights a staggering lack of focus on a devastating condition that affects nearly a million people in the UK.

As local authorities are responsible for providing support & care for people with dementia, they need to hear why they must make dementia a priority.

That’s why I have asked my council leader to meet with Alzheimer’s Society. Will you do the same? https://t.co/JqmcIKcQxv

[Nicola Williams @NCopes87]

#LoveLossandDementia really hitting home from @alzheimerssoc and @AnnaRichardso asking the question I always bang on about- ‘UK’s biggest killer, why aren’t we prioritising it!’ Funny how a covid vaccine can appear within 6mo but people can’t even get a timely diagnosis. #formum

Let's make dementia a priority and remind decision makers why it can't remain the UK's forgotten crisis #DAW2024 https://t.co/dGwZysGr05

Every word of this breaks my heart all over again. Thank you ⁦@DementiaUK⁩ for showing the stark reality of this crippling condition. UK’s biggest killer, more attention needed, more funding needed, help needed! 💔 https://t.co/mcqQTXgRCW

This is so so wonderful ❤️👏🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻

[Postcode Lottery @PostcodeLottery]

.@alzheimerssoc & @AlzResearchUK received our BIGGEST EVER #DreamFund award of £5 million.

They will use this money to introduce a groundbreaking test to the NHS for earlier diagnosis, which will aim to transform dementia care & provide hope to millions of people❤

Recruitment tips from our area teams last week. Don’t bother with CV’s, just chat to someone face to face for 20 minutes and talk about their hobbies and passions. If you rate their personality as a 9/10 or 10/10, offer them the job. 8’s or less aren’t good enough for us.

Today’s full results support what we heard about donanemab in May – the drug is able to slow down the progression of Alzheimer’s disease by more than 20%.

This is truly a turning point in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
