📢 Selected World Media Coverage of the NCRI Free Iran UN Rally
September 22–23, 2026 | New York
Thousands of Iranians rallied in support of Maryam Rajavi’s 10-Point Plan for a future free, democratic republic in Iran and denounced the regime’s presence at #UNGA81.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of PMOI member Mohammad Afzalian in Albania following a cardiac arrest. Mohammad led 47 years of unrelenting struggle against the mullahs’ regime in the ranks of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and the National Liberation Army of Iran (NLA).
Born in 1955 in Na’in in Isfahan Province, Mohammad Afzalian became acquainted with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) while he was in the United States studying mechanical engineering, after hearing the courtroom defense and learning of the execution of Mehdi Rezaei, known as the “Red Rose” of Iran’s anti-monarchical revolution.
Following the anti-monarchical revolution in 1979, he began his full-time activities with the PMOI through the Muslim Students Association in the United States. In 1985, he went to the Iran-Iraq border region to join the PMOI’s combat units.
In 1987, with the formation of the National Liberation Army of Iran (NLA), he donned the uniform of combat and honor and fought valiantly in many NLA operations, including Operations Meydan, Qarqan, Lak Lak, Dani-Gaz, Garmab, Marivan, Sepidar, Piranshahr, Aftab, Chelcheragh, Forough Javidan (Eternal Light), and Morvarid (Pearl).
Following the 2003 Iraq war, during the 14 years of resistance at Camp Ashraf and Camp Liberty, he distinguished himself on the front lines, including during the valiant resistance at Ashraf on July 28 and 29, 2009, and April 8, 2011, against attacks and missile barrages by mercenaries of the terrorist Quds Force, led by Qassem Soleimani.
Mohammad Afzalian, with the spirit of a revolutionary fighter and filled with faith in revolution and liberation, played a prominent role among his comrades. Energetic and without seeking recognition, he creatively undertook all kinds of responsibilities and was a trailblazer who always stepped forward when the going got tough.
Mohammad Afzalian now joins his martyred comrades from the series of National Liberation Army operations. We salute his selflessness, sincerity, and sacrifice throughout 47 years of full-time struggle against reaction and religious dictatorship. Mojaheds such as Mohammad Afzalian are the shining stars of our homeland in the dark nights of the mullahs’ rule, illuminating the path ahead for the sons and daughters of Iran.
His tradition of struggle and his revolutionary values will remain alive and inspiring until the day of victory among his PMOI comrades and the rebels fighting for Iran’s freedom, especially the young fighters in his hometown of Na’in.
For decades, the Iranian Resistance warned about #Iran regime’s export of terrorism arguing for a firm policy to hold regime accountable. But Western governments, diplomats, experts & even columnists, chose to accommodate this threat because they were busy promoting the illusion of moderates and reformers. The fallacy & disastrous consequences of this failed appeasement are laid bare by the RAF Fairford terror plot. https://t.co/sXVL0uTp1t
State TV said “no trace” of Gohardasht would remain. The Karaj prison, a principal site of the #1988massacre and evidence in Sweden’s case against Hamid Noury, has been razed. Prisoners were moved to Ghezel Hesar. The building is gone. The repression is not.

🚨 Resistance Unit Targets FARAJA Headquarters in Hamidieh, Ahvaz
Footage obtained by Simay Azadi shows a PMOI Resistance Unit opening fire on a FARAJA headquarters in Hamidieh, Ahvaz, as part of a reported wave of more than 20 operations across Iran.
According to the PMOI, the actions also targeted IRGC and Basij bases and large regime banners in response to the recent executions of Ali Hemmati and Majid Nikandish, two protesters arrested during the January 2026 uprising.
🚨 BREAKING | Iran Executes Two January Uprising Prisoners in Isfahan
This morning, Alireza Sepahi, 24, and Alireza Reisi, 21, were executed in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan.
The two were among 12 young men sentenced to death in the so-called “Ali-Khani Square” case, linked to the deaths of four Special Units members involved in suppressing the January uprising.
Five others in the same case — Erfan Esfandiyari, Gol-Mohammad Mohammadi, Amirhossein Safari, Abolfazl Sepahi, and Ghaem Hosseini — were previously executed in July and August.
🚨 Authorities in Iran continue razing Gohardasht Prison—a key site of the #1988Massacre.
Crimes against humanity are not only committed through murder; they are also perpetuated through the destruction of evidence, denial of truth and obstruction of justice.

🚨 Iran is demolishing Gohardasht Prison to erase evidence of its crimes against humanity.
Today, authorities tore down watchtowers at a principal site of the #1988Massacre, where political prisoners were executed after minute-long "hearings".
The death corridor and execution hall mapped in Sweden’s Hamid Noury trial are being erased.
Destroying evidence of crimes against humanity is a continuation of the crime.

🚨New footage: the entrance to Gohardasht prison, completely demolished.
Iran’s judiciary media on Sunday: “Gohardasht prison has passed into history.”
Can they bury the 1988 massacre with the prison?
