Congratulations to Braxton Winston II, who has been elected by convention delegates to succeed MaryBe McMillan as president of the North Carolina State AFL-CIO! We’re fired up and ready to fight for working people in NC! Let’s get to work! 💪🔥 #countmein#1u
It’s more important than ever that our justices are principled jurists who value the constitution above partisan considerations. Justice Anita Earls is that justice.

RELEASE: North Carolina @AFLCIO Condemns NC House Omnibus Election Bill. @BraxtonWinston: "The sweeping changes proposed in H.B. 958 are not legitimate measures to increase election integrity." https://t.co/FsP4RGx88u #ncga#ncpol
" However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion. ". - George Washington, FAREWELL ADDRESS | SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 1796
The sweeping changes proposed in H.B. 958 are not legitimate measures to increase election integrity. The bill is a messy and disorganized attempt to legislate election results. It is the newest next effort to bend the rules of our elections in favor of one party, in the tradition of biased electoral maps and attempts to discredit votes to reverse election results.
Among this bill’s many damaging provisions are changes to the election auditing and vote challenging processes. These accomplish nothing, except to allow further partisan manipulation of our elections. Other changes include more restrictions for overseas voters—including our active duty military servicemembers—and relaxed requirements for campaign donors. These also accomplish nothing, except to limit who can vote and expand who can donate anonymously to influence elections. This bill seeks to further weaken the freedom of North Carolinians to choose who represents them, and we urge the House and Senate to reject it.

I am proud to have the endorsement of @NCStateAFLCIO! Embracing the labor movement and delivering for workers is how we are going to take back power from the oligarchs who exploit our communities.
NC AFL-CIO is leading that fight in our state, and I’ll continue that fight in DC.
I am proud to announce that our campaign has been endorsed by the @NCStateAFLCIO! When elected I’m looking forward to helping support pro-worker legislation. I’m so incredibly grateful for your support of this campaign!

.@NCStateAFLCIO President @BraxtonWinston said it best: union workers earn better wages, they have retirement security, stronger benefits and so much more.
Good union jobs change lives!
Honored to receive the endorsement of @ncstateaflcio in my campaign for reelection. I have always been a champion for working people, and I am proud to have the support of workers and unions.
